QUALIFYING TEST: Candidates for Pre-Degree Science Programme must perform to a satisfactory level in a Computer- Based qualifying test to be conducted on Thursday, 1 st and Friday 2 nd November, 2012 at 9:00 am at the e-test Centre, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State. Candidates are expected to visit the website of the Federal University of Technology, Akure www.futa.edu.ng. for the results of the qualifying test as from Monday 12 th November, 2012. The programme is full-time, residential and will run for one academic session of Two (2) Semesters. REGISTRATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF LECTURES: Screening and registration of successful candidates begin on Monday, 19 th November, 2012 while lectures commence on Monday, 3 rd December, 2012. Candidates who successfully complete the programme and meet the cut-off mark for the course applied for as determined by the University Admission Committee as well as meet the JAMB cut-off mark would be admitted into 100 level of the University undergraduate degree programme in relevant discipline.
METHOD OF APPLICATION: 1. Candidates are to pay application fee of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) excluding bank charges on e-transact platform in any bank that is on e-transact platform. 2. Candidates are to complete and print the PDS Application Form online after payment by logging on to the Federal University of Technology, Akure s website www.futa.edu.ng and click on the online PDS Application Form. 3. Submit the Online application form and print out a copy. 4. The application opens on Monday, 9 th July, 2012 and closes on Friday, 26 th October, 2012. 5. F. CERTIFICATE COURSE IN SPORTS SCIENCE a. Candidates must have minimum of three credit passes at WASC/NECO/GCE O Level or NABTEB. b. Recommendation confirming cognate experience from Director of Sports, FUTA or from any other institution endorsed by the Director of Sports, FUTA Three (3) Semesters G. CERTIFICATE COURSE IN METEOROLOGY i. Candidates must have five (5) O Level WASC/GCE in any of the following: Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics or any other relevant subject; ii. World Meteorology Organization (WMO) Class II Meteorology Certificate normally required for Direct Entry in the Department of Meteorology and/or a minimum, of 7 years professional experience in any related field; iii. Graduates in related disciplines like Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Physics, Mathematics, Agric. etc The Certificate course will be on full time and will last for five (5) months. This is made up of one (1) semester of coursework and one (1) month of simple student research project. H. CERTIFICATE COURSE IN FRENCH LANGUAGE i. No previous knowledge of French Language is required as this is a beginner s course. ii. Ability to read and write English Language is the only requirement. Three (3) months of six hours per week. I. COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAMME (MORNING & EVENING SESSIONS): Training programmes are available in the following: i. Executive Certificate Course in Computer Studies (3 Months) ii. DIPLOMA IN FINANCE AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY With the trend of development at the global level, there is the need to introduce technology into the curricula of Business and Financial Management in Nigeria in order to develop a middle-level manpower that will produce a high performance management framework. In view of the above, the Diploma in Finance and Business Management Technology of the Centre has been packaged into various options to achieve the objective. i. Candidates should possess O/L WASC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB at not more than two sittings with a minimum of credit passes in English Language and Mathematics and any other two relevant subjects. Two Academic Sessions of 4 semesters. L. DIPLOMA IN FORESTRY AND RANGE MANAGEMENT i. Four Credits including English Language and Mathematics, at WASC/NECO/GCE O Level or NABTEB ii.
