Japanese Language Program (JLP) In the JLP, students: Develop their Japanese language skills in four areas Reading, writing, listening, and speaking Choose from a wide range of levels Beginner to higher advanced (12 levels) Study Japanese society and culture Build the language proficiency necessary for future research in specialized disciplines 12

3-Campus Program at Keio Full Academic Year Option Course Registration 1 Core Course Deep Culture Difference : Understanding Japan Through Cross-Cultural Comparison Elective Courses Students may elect 2 courses from the following 5 options: Japan s Postwar Resurgence Japanese Foreign Policy Human Security In Japan and East Asia Japanese Economy The Globalization of Japan and Japanese 17

3-Campus Program at Keio Full Academic Year Option Course Registration 2 In addition to 1 core course and 2 electives, 3-Campus students may choose to take courses from more than 100 English-taught courses focusing on Japan and East/Southeast Asia as a central theme. 3-Campus Program at Keio Full Academic Year Option Student Support Orientation (General orientation for all international students and orientation exclusively for 3-Campus students) Opening Ceremony for 3-Campus students Events, excursions, and various other opportunities to experience Japanese culture and tradition throughout the year arranged by a number of support groups. 19

3-Campus Program at Keio Full Academic Year Option Housing 3-Campus students are guaranteed a place in a dormitory. There are 6 dormitories to choose from. Resident assistants(keio students) live in each of the dormitories. 20

3-Campus Program at Keio Half-Year Option Half-Year Option in 2014 5 students from Princeton University joined the Keio Short-Term Japanese Studies Program (KJSP), from January 28 to February 11, 2014 21

3-Campus Program at Keio Half-Year Option Half-Year Option in 2015 A two-week tailored program will be offered if more than 5 participants are nominated by July 2014 If less than 5 students choose the Half-Year Option, 3-Campus students will join the Keio Short-Term Japanese Studies Program (KJSP) as in 2014 22

3-Campus Program at Keio Full Academic Year Option Full Academic Year Option in 2015-16 Full Academic Year Option will be available in 2015-16 The application period for Fall Semester 2014 intake at Keio finished in March, 2014. If there are any students who wish to choose the Full Academic Year Option in 2014-15, Keio will be able to host them in Fall Semester 2015.
