I am never at my best in the early morning, especially a cold morning in the Yorkshire spring with a piercing March wind sweeping down from the fells, finding its way inside my clothing, nipping at my nose and ears. The Student affairs committee is looking for assistance with granting some wishes - 1. Tunxis@Bristol is looking for a student or group of students to refresh and revitalize their program slides part graphics part marketing, this would be a great opportunity for some hands-on experience for a graphic design student, or a semester project. 2. Sue Lounsbury is looking for a mural in the Algebra Lab--perhaps the Art Club might be interested? 3. Steve Mead is looking for a computer librarian of sorts to catalog, research and display some computer related items from the past. 4. Several departments are looking to update their web pages on the Tunxis site and are looking for creative web-designing students to help them. Please offer these opportunities to your students and if they are interested, have them contact either me or Sam Kapros, SAC Chair. Thank you!!! --Helen Lozada

La canción is the humorous and refreshing story of Rafa, a young man from The Bronx with a passion for music. Captivated by the song and with the desire to adapt it to urban music, Rafa embarks on a quest to find its author, but in his search unexpectedly discovers the truth about his origins. In this new musical, Rafa tells his story through an amalgam of musical genres from Rap to tropical tunes like Salsa, Merengue and Bachata. Performed in Spanish with English subtitles via Simultext In-Seat Captioning. 30th Annual Barnes Seminar on Teaching Sponsored by The Center for Teaching May 22 nd - 24 th, 2017 Imagine this: You've just enjoyed some stimulating discussions about teaching and learning, are excited about all the great new ideas you have, and now you're enjoying a hike through the hills overlooking the lake. You're looking forward to another great meal and more conversation with friends you've made from around our community college system (and more than a little fun) before you go back to your private room and relax for the night. Best of all, this whole experience has cost you absolutely nothing. This could be you if you are selected to attend The Barnes Seminar on Teaching, May 22 nd 23 rd, 2017. Applications must be returned to me by March 3 rd As those who have attended in the past will (readily) tell you, Barnes is a terrific experience where participants are the experts, and you have a chance to connect with faculty from around the system in a relaxed, positive, and focused atmosphere, spending two and a half days in a beautiful setting, completely free of charge. As the coordinator of Barnes puts it, "There will not be outside experts, lectures, critiques, or complaining about politics or the administration. There will be lots of time for reflection and discussion, plenty of fun, and time to reconnect with why you decided to go into our profession. If you re interested, but have questions let me know. If you want to talk to participants from past years, let me know that too. Just don t forget to send me the completed application! Your TLC, Colleen Richard Center for Teaching Teaching/Learning Coordinator

If you are going to cancel class or arrive late please do the following: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM--Call the Faculty Secretary Cancellation Number at 860-773-1522.
