V O L U M E 2, I S S U E 5 From the JFK Registrar The JFK Registrar, Mrs. Schlopy, is the keeper of student records and assists students with official transcripts for college applications and scholarships. It is critical for all students and families to review their records periodically online through Q and ensure JFK has the most current information. This will ensure timely access to information throughout the year. Please continue reading for important reminders. I N T E R - D I S T R I C T T R A N S F E R S Students living out of the District need to renew their Inter- District Transfers both at their neighborhood school district and CNUSD Student Services annually. Transcripts with second semester grades will be available for mailing or pick-up after 1 p.m. on June 10 th. The registrar s office will close at 3:30 p.m. on June 11 th for summer break. Senior Obligations Senior parents: As we come to the conclusion of high school, we begin the celebration of a milestone through awards, accolades, ceremonies, and activities. One important process in parting ways with students is the returning of borrowed district materials, or satisfying financial obligations that may have accumulated over the years. This year s Senior class will begin the process of returning textbooks during the week of May 19th. It is important that all students take the time to ensure that all school materials are returned undamaged. It is equally important that all students verify that they do not have any outstanding obligations on their account. Often times these obligations are due to lost or damaged textbooks, property damage (classroom equipment), or due to unpaid fund raising obligations to athletic or club affiliation. It is important to note that specific obligations must be taken care of at the school where the obligation originated. Students who have obligations on their account will need to ensure they are settled prior to the end of the year. For any student who has an unpaid obligation, the school will not release their diploma, grades, transcripts, or student records until financial restitution is made. Additionally, any student who has an unpaid obligation will not receive additional tickets to the graduation ceremony scheduled for May 29th 2014 until financial restitution is made. As your student prepares to exit high school, we strongly recommend they inquire about any obligation that may exist and make arrangements for payment as soon as possible. Specific inquiries regarding obligations can be made with Ms. Cervantes in the CLICC.
