Bowling Green s Classified Staff Council Professional Development Fund (CSCPDF) was established in September 2005 with the mission to provide financial support to classified employees who wish to seek professional and individual growth and development through opportunities such as workshops, conferences, jobrelated classes, training and/or presentations which will further their knowledge and/or attain new skills. Reporting Out Points Pay/Salary Increases: Administrative & Classified Staff 1% across the Board in FY 2012 Union/Bargaining (Faculty) No contract negotiated to date (targeted for 7/01/12). Notes 1. No announcement by the University about pay increases for FY 2013. Classified Staff Council has officially requested a 4% salary increase for 2013. 2. Administrative Staff Compensation Review was completed in F 11 by Mercer, to result in new salary structure effective 7/01/12 with adjustments to take place over FY s 2013 and 2014. 3. Classified Staff Job Classification Study began SP 12, to be completed by end of 2012.
Established in 1979, Classified Staff Council's (CSC) primary purpose is to provide a direct channel of communication between classified employees and University administrators. Council representatives listen to the employee's concerns and opinions and respect their suggestions, ideas and comments. They want to make the work environment as pleasant as possible so the classified staff members careers at BGSU are as satisfying as possible. Reporting Out Points Change in Benefits Program: Staff Must pay for Parking Permits beginning 2011-12. One-time salary adjustment to cover cost of first academic year permit. Faculty Non-represented faculty same as staff above. Union/Bargaining (Faculty) No charge until faculty collective bargaining agreement reached (targeted for 7/01/12). Notes 1. Annual Parking permits cost $120. 2. No significant changes in health care benefits/costs for 2012

Reporting Out Points Layoffs/Terminations/Furloughs Classified Staff 3 classified layoffs in Summer 11 and 3 classified positions eliminated in SP 12 Administrative Staff No data available after 2010 Faculty Currently 900 full time faculty teach on the main campus. Notes 1. Whereas in 2008 there were 952 classified employees, there are presently 697 a 27% decrease. Enrollment over the same period has increased from 16,001 to 16,223 (F 11). 2. In 2008 there were 628 administrative staff compared to the current 649. 3. Approximately 800 faculty members are represented by the AAUP at this time, after unionization in 2011.

WYMO For the 11 th year, University students have collected unwanted clothing, household goods and non-perishable food items for distribution to a number of food pantries, homeless and domestic violence shelters, and other organizations for the needy in the area. BGSU News Items 2011-12 Classified Staff Council (CSC) awarded ten (10) $300 scholarships to our constituents dependents this year. CSC engaged in revising the Classified Staff Performance Evaluation to be implemented in Spring 2013. 1 st Classified Staff Cohort of Bowling Green Leadership institute (BGLI) convened with 20 members from 9/2011 through 4/2012. Future cohorts will alternate between Administrative and Classified staff. CSC - Approximately $5,000 budget carryover to 2013.
A weeklong series of events led up to the inauguration of Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey as Bowling Green State University s 11th (and 2 nd female) President on December 2, 2011. Tuition increase for 2011-12 was 3.5%, raising the yearly tuition and fees to $10,044 for in-state undergraduates. 10 Year Reaccreditation Process by North Central Higher Learning Commission: 1. BGSU volunteered to be one of 14 Pioneers in Cohort 1 for the new criteria for accreditation 2. New Open Pathway methodology, w/ 2 components: Quality Initiative (due 8/31/12) & Assurance Document (due 3/15/13) 3. Online process with maximum of 6,000 words (24 pages) for QI & 35,000 words from 15 users and 6 URLs for Assurance Document. Review April 13 by 6 people for 1.5 days rather than 15 people for multiple days as in past. No preliminary findings will be communicated by reviewers.
