For purposes of registration, the minimum number of subjects is 3, and the maximum is 7, per semester. Visa Requirements A Student Visa is mandatory in order to study legally in Brazil. ADMISSION Welcome Meeting At the beginning of each semester, a Welcome Meeting is held, in order to inform student benefits, as well as answer questions about the exchange program, São Paulo city, and other topics. The meeting will be held on February 6, 2017. For this matter, it is important for students to arrive in Brazil at least one week beforehand. Registration in Brazil Students should come to the International Office with all their documents, at the following address: Rua Casa do Ator, 294 - Vila Olímpia Postal Code: 04546-001 Phone: 55 11 3847-3107 (55 11 - used outside of Brazil only) Service hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. *All students must schedule an appointment for registration. Registration at UAM: Academic record with signature and seal; One (1) 3 x 4 photo; Copy of passport and visa; Copy of proof of purchase of medical insurance with the mentioned characteristics in the article regarding Insurance.*
ADMISSION Health Insurance All international students must present Health Insurance (Medical Insurance) that is valid for the entire period during which they will remain as students in Brazil. Temporary insurance for periods of less than a semester will not be accepted, because it is not possible to guarantee their renewal. For this reason, the university requires insurance with coverage for the entire semester, for the student s safety. The insurance must cover medical care and admittance to a hospital, paying the hospitals immediately upon use of the insurance. Insurance will not be accepted if it works under the reimbursement system (when the student must pay first and then apply for the insurance to provide reimbursement), because there have been situations where the hospital refused to care for students because the insurance would not advance the amount and the student was not in a financial position to make the payment. It will not be possible to purchase a Health Insurance in Brazil, since insurance companies do not offer this service once foreigners are already in the country. Academic record with signature and seal One (1) 3 x 4 photo; Copy of passport and visa; Copy of proof of purchase of medical insurance with the characteristics mentioned in the article regarding Insurance.*
APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE DEADLINES The deadline to apply for the Exchange, Double Degree and Graduate programs for the first semester is November 10, 2016. Acceptance Letter In order for students to obtain the Acceptance Letter, which is required to process the student visa, it is very important to consult your university s International Office within the established period of time.
