If any parents are interested in joining a committee please contact the office, who will then pass on your details to the convenor. We invite any interested members of our community to join a committee, you do not have to be a School Councillor. The BBPS community prides itself on the home school partnership. We look forward to a productive year: challenging all students as resilient learners with growth mindsets; adding to our resources for the third stage of the refurbishment of the main building; completing smaller projects such as air-conditioning in the CLC. We also look forward to the full calendar of PA social events and the Footy where a lot of behind the scenes action is already taking place TERM 1, WEEK 8 THURSDAY, MARCH 23 RD 2017 P a g e 1

Friendship Afternoon Well done to our year 6 teams who led the multi-aged friendship groups to unpack what a learning community is, looks like, feels like and acts like. For our student leaders the challenge is to present a topic to their group and create opportunities to explore this through shared dialogue, role plays, games and art work. The purpose is for all students to feel comfortable in the playground by getting to know students from other classes. As well as leading students through the above mentioned activities the year 6 leaders also spoke to students about the importance of positive relationships and standing up for each other. The timing of the event coincided with Harmony Day (21/03) and also the National Day of Action Against Bullying (17/03). Every student received a wrist band with the slogan Bullying No Way! - Take a Stand Together for them to wear in support of our commitment to this action. Thanks to Emma Baldwin and the Learning to Learn team. Bev and Kim TERM 1, WEEK 8 THURSDAY, MARCH 23 RD 2017 P a g e 2

Brighton Beach District Swim Team included: Year 9/10 Molly Welsh, Sofia Lyons, Zoe Farrell, Alice Vaughn, Lexi Williams, Josh Farrell, Akin Ogunbambi, Lucas Hornblower, Ben Murphy Year 11 Neve Hathaway, Chiara Darby, Arabella Stevenson, Lucy Hackett, Sasha Bollen, Kriss Kortge, Brady Lark, James Klingwort, Tom Hardie, Oscar Humble Year 12/13 - Olivia DeZeeuw, Pippa Anscombe, Hailey Hornblower, Indi Jarvis, Indi Fisher, Ollie Murphy, Ned Maginness, Tommy Farrell, James Cahill. Everyone swam extremely well on the day. As a team we were able to win the Aggregate Shield which is awarded to the school that performs the best based on the amount of students it has. This was our 4th year in a row which was an amazing feat. In the Overall Shield, we narrowly went down to Blackrock PS by 13 pts to finish outright second. Another amazing record. Those students finishing in first place qualify for the Kingston Division Swimming Carnival on March 15th. Thank you to Miss Gadea, Robyn Ogunbambi, Megan Hardwick & Karen Anscombe who came along on the day to help and support in a time keeping role along with many other parent helpers. It was much appreciated and helped make the day run smoothly.
