Spring Writing SOL General Information: Testing will be March 21-24, with the multiple choice portion being assessed first (March 21 22), followed by the short prompt (March 23 24). We will remain on a regular bell schedule, with no FLEX on Wednesday. Class-change bells will not ring during testing. Non-English 11 classes are expected to conduct class as usual. All test sessions will be double-blocked to allow students an appropriate amount of time to complete the tests. Proctoring teachers are expected to remain with the class to which they are assigned for both blocks. o o o A1/B1 or A3/B3 students can be released to their second/fourth block class once they have completed their test, but only during that second or fourth block. (Example: Johnny has English 11 during B1. He finishes his test within the first block. He can go to his B2 class during B2.) Students will be automatically marked as Field Trip in PowerSchool for both testing blocks. Any changes that need to be made will be done so in a timely manner. Students and teachers testing during A3/B3 will eat first lunch. As a safeguard, no teacher will be testing their own class. Training for examiners and proctors will be on Thursday, March 16 th at 3:45 pm in the library. Any staff needing to attend will be notified by me. Teachers who are asked to cover an English class should arrive to their assigned block on time so that students are properly monitored. If your study hall partner is testing or being used for coverage, it is expected that you will supervise. We appreciate the fact that you are giving up your planning time to cover classes. Classes that are displaced for testing will be moved to an empty classroom. I have reserved computer carts to accommodate our computer-based classes. Please see the attached schedule and room assignment chart. Happy testing! Kim King
