UPDATES AND COMMENTS: Surface Water Management Update- Harold Smelt Robert Plummer leaving SWAB citing health issues Clarks Cr. TMDL response and have requested "dispute mediation" with DOE o Goal - better define some requirements such as the recovery plan o Eliminate (minimize) some of the most onerous requirements Council work plan for 2015 shaping up o Have requested hearings for all major issues on the SWAB work plan o Also - adoption of Nisqually and South Prairie CMZ studies Legislature session just ramping up o Have already seen bills to amend the HPA process o Expecting to see a bill regarding the Governor's Fish Consumption standards soon o Floodplain by design funding? o Staff monitor bills fairly closely... FEMA has re-issued draft flood hazard maps o Secluded areas along major rivers o Includes new coastal hazard info o Multi-city rollout meeting scheduled for February o Finalization schedule is about 16 months Initial briefing for CM Young o Sole issue for SWM is pending rate study UW just created a new Master's program for Floodplain Management

They received feedback from the Board on the stakeholder questions.
