The computer age ha hown great impact on information reearch. Long range reference ervice have come to an end. Ready reference ervice i available with the help of networking. Large amount of information i being generated every moment. The exponential growth of literature i too fat for any pecialit or any individual to keep pace with. Right information to the right uer at the right time with preciion i becoming a need in an information ociety. Revolution in ICT technique ha dratically integrated Librarie into knowledge hub, which can fetch every required information through pile of book a well a the worldwide web networking, thereby tranforming into hybrid, digital and virtual librarie. Library i major reource of knowledge a well a information required by uer, obviouly improving reponibilitie of a Librarian. A gamut of ervice are expected to be catered through Librarian, who act a Information Officer, Navigator and reource peron who ha to be, all the time, aware of what, how, when and where to earch the expected knowledge by the uer, reearcher, tudent and teacher. INFORMATION SEEKING ATTITUDE OF USERS According to Wilon (999, 000), information-eeking behavior include "thoe activitie a peron may engage in when identifying their own need for information, earching for uch

information in any way, and uing or tranferring that information."[8] [4] Kakai, et al., (004) have defined information-eeking behavior a an individual' way and manner of gathering and ourcing for information for peronal ue, knowledge updating, and development.[4] Information-eeking behavior of tudent, reearcher, and profeor ha been the focu of enquiry for decade. Initially, however, uer tudie were conducted primarily to evaluate library collection. OBJECTIVES To tudy the information need of the uer. To know the prime dependent ource for information among the tudent. To highlight the ufficiency on the variou reource at the librarie. To tudy the variou kind of need where ICT i involved for atifying the information need. To tudy variou kind of reource that are available for atifying the information need To tudy the difficultie faced by the tudent while handling ICT in librarie SCOPE OF THE STUDY: The tudy wa baed on the following apect: Statu, computing, librarie and ervice provided and level of Satifaction. The tudy confined to the uer including tudent of Undergraduate, Pot Graduate and taff of elected ICT oriented college affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati Univerity, Amravati. The tudy wa mainly focued on the ue and awarene of Information Communication Technology. METHODOLOGY: The tudy ha been made by urveying the different uer group from the college of SGB Amravati Univerity, Amravati,Which were aociated with Art, Commerce and Science tream of education and Social Science faculty. When reearcher draw hi ample, he want to have a good repreentation of all the kind of people in the population. At the beginning reearch cholar collected the name and addree of all college with their tatu in automation of librarie and development toward Information Communication Technology in SGB Amravati Univerity, Amravati. Thi formed the population for the preent tudy. Sant Gadge Baba Amravati Univerity : S.G.B. Amravati univerity wa etablihed on t May,98 on the aupiciou occaion of Maharahtra Day & Worker' Day. Sant Gadge Baba Amravati Univerity geographically cover the wetern Vidarbha belt i.e. five ditrict viz. Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Wahim of Maharahtra State. The Univerity, in it mall pan of two decade, ha contributed in many way for economic, ocial and cultural upliftment of the ociety by offering bet quality education. Amravati Univerity i recognized under Section (B) of the Univerity Grant Commiion (UGC) Act of the Minitry of Education, Government of India. The Univerity received NAAC accreditation in 00. college are affiliated with Amravati Univerity, with an enrolment of over 90,000 tudent for the undergraduate and graduate coure, together, in different facultie. Univerity, Amravati. The reearcher elected 40 repondent from each college from the total of 8 college. For the ampling of ubject, the reearcher ued tratified random ampling and collect 5 tudent from Under-graduate, 5 tudent from Pot-graduate, 0 taff member from each college. Some quetionnaire were found incompletely filled, ome were blank and ome were wrongly reponded. Above table no 4 depict that, mot tudent move toward library for preparing cla note for examination or college tudie integrating general awarene, effective ue of internet and refer journal and magazine wherea all the reearcher eek information related to their reearch through journal and Magazine, dicuion and general awarene i favored by repondent. A per above table, it wa oberved that, the repone for Internet browing wa very low. The reaon behind thi wa variou college had computer but due to financial problem or due to not having the upport from management, to maintain computer for internet facility wa difficult for them. Thu the viit to the library and it ue indicate that mot of the uer conult the library to participate in the proce of Reading/Thinking, Preparing cla note and for general awarene. 4

Which of the following ervice do you ue from your library? Nowaday information ervice are the important ervice of any library/information centre. Information ervice are uually provided through the information ource, where the required information i likely to be available. The librarian according to time, place & circumtance, provide information ervice on the bai of variou available ource. Table No 5. Book Bank ervice i offered by library on the merit bai a well a on the deerving tatu of tudent. Thu tudent can avail thi amenity whenever offered by library itelf. It may be due to, though internet ervice i modern amenity, it i not yet o reonate to make it affordable for all end uer of librarie. Even in electronic era and tech avvy uer, the prioritiation of reader i more to lending ervice, reading room and internet ervice in thi order of importance. A per above table, it wa oberved that, very few repondent agree that, their librarie do not have reading room facility. Reading room facility i an important prerequiite for an effective functioning of a library. A conductive atmophere of a library i eential for tudy and reearch but unfortunately it i not available in maximum librarie. Mot of librarie, due to financial contraint and lack of pace, cannot offer photocopier. But if uch amenity i offered at reaonable cot then it can urvive and even help librarie to be a ource of income generation. From table 8, though library i a growing organiation & while peaking about conventional material, no library can be able to fulfil the demand of their uer. On the other hand while peaking about ICT reource today era of knowledge globaliation, Library can hardly be elf ufficient in all repect of ICT, becaue the technology i changing every day in day out and the technique turn outdated within very hort pan. Hence librarie could meet the expectation of uer and reader between 5 to 80 and not beyond. Some of the Uer felt that reading material/ervice available in the library were not adequate, Reaon were.. Lacking of latet addition of book.. Some time at the time of rece library taff were not available.. Book of popular author were le in tock. 4. Library did not have enough tock to provide efficient book bank. 5. There were no tandard book available in the library, which a tudent really want. 6. The cope of ubject wa increaing day by day and more material ha to be available.. Some reference book were not available 8. Finding of material wa quite difficult compared to earch engine. 9. Important book were not available and if available then in one or two copie only. 0. Some book which were eential to our yllabu were not available in library

CONCLUSION Academic Librarie are uch librarie which deal mainly with the Higher Education and main object of uch librarie i to promote reearch work. Simultaneouly thee librarie play very important role in learning a well a in teaching to appreciate every apect of teaching/learning. Thee librarie have collection and compilation of reference to variou reearch work, which can provide ready beckoner and upportive information related to variou ubject and topic.
