Annual Meeting & Grant Awards Presentation

More than 10 years in support of Broward County s best visual and performing arts organizations

Funding Arts Broward, FAB!, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and cultivating the arts in Broward County. 100% of all annual membership fees goes toward funding grants. Through a competitive grant process, annual awards are made to a myriad of non-profit visual and performing arts organizations in Broward County. This is a participatory endeavor. Members volunteer to review grant applications, conduct site visits, evaluate and recommend funding for specific projects. Grantees are then selected by a vote of the FAB! membership. Save the Dates Be part of FAB! and join us for lunch. Luncheons are held in downtown Fort Lauderdale. November 17, 2014 January 12, 2015 April 20, 2015 May 18, 2015

Letter to Members

Dear FAB! Members and Friends, For the past year we have been celebrating our 10th anniversary season, which is culminating with this year s awards. It s astounding, and a source of great pride, that we mark this milestone having surpassed even the most idealistic imaginings of our founding members by awarding more than $2 million to Broward County arts organizations. The entire community has benefited from this vision that became a reality through the individual efforts of each and every FAB! member. Our members come from Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties and our ranks have grown to include men and corporate members. Our extremely rigorous grant screening process, which is administered and manned by FAB! members, provides assurance that your contributions are awarded consistent with our funding policies and criteria. And, as has always been our policy, 100% of all annual membership payments goes into our grant pool. We thank each and every one of you because without you there would be no FAB! We would like to especially acknowledge a particular group of women with whom the original vision was shared in 2003 and they said, Yes! Count us in! our Founding Members. Congratulations to all of us!!! With sincere appreciation, Drazia Rubenstein President Francie Bishop Good Founding Chair

FAB! Funding Making a Difference To date, Funding Arts Broward has awarded more than $2 million to over 30 Broward County arts organizations.

Our mission is Transforming girls lives through musical excellence, and that is what we strive for each day. Without the support of your organization, gathering the funds to make this possible for our girls and the community would be a truly difficult challenge. We are deeply grateful that FAB! recognizes the value of the Girl Choir to the South Florida community and continues to generously support the GCSF. Thank you! - Wallis Peterson, Artistic Director The Girl Choir of South Florida FAB! is an incredible partner with the arts in Broward County and with the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Over the past decade, FAB! has enabled us to fund Artist-in-Residences to expand our arts in education programming impacting thousands of area children, we have established a performing arts program, the Saturday Chautauqua Series, to bring performances into the Museum setting, expanding our cultural diversity in the northwest corridor. And we are most excited to be able to bring digital and electronic arts programming to the Museum and surrounding area through the FAB! Knight New Work Award program. This grant has enabled us to turn a corner for the Museum with digital and electronic art classes and programs. Thanks to this award, we are now able to provide these new opportunities for our community making us even more relevant to current trends in art production and teaching a part of STEM through art and technology. We cannot thank you enough for your vision and generosity! Bryan W. Knicely, Executive Director Coral springs Museum of Art The FAB! grant for our Spring concert series was vital to our ability to produce the finest concert we have performed in our 11-year history. The quality of our orchestra and soloist underscored the commitment of our new artistic director/conductor to performing programs of uncompromised quality. Our audiences went wild! We believe this concert was a turning point in the life of our organization and thank you for helping make it possible. - Holly Strawbridge, President Master Chorale of South Florida Without FAB s assistance with the Knight New Work Award, Seraphic Fire would have never been able to commission an incredible new completion to Mozart s Requiem by Gregory Spears. In an age where partisan politics is more and more interfering with governmental grant funding, FAB has presented a wonderful private model of arts funding that is reliable, stable, and personal. Without FAB, our programs in Broward would most certainly be less adventurous and less exciting for our audiences. Thank you for all that you do for us! -Joey Quigley, Managing Director Seraphic Fire
