Issue 25/ 27 August 2014 Friday 29 August: Pizza R10 Wednesday 03 August: Yankees R10 From the Headmistress' tablet We welcome Mrs Pat Brink to our school today as our IQAA (Independent Quality Assurance Agency) mentor. Mrs Brink is here to finalise months of surveys, focus group discussions and interviews. Thank you to all stakeholders (parents, learners, staff) who completed questionnaires, were interviewed and attended focus group discussions. Your input has been most valuable and will assist us in improving our school and to celebrate achievements. A special word of thanks to Mrs Jenny van Rensburg who is the team leader and who organised and collated all related activities. It has been a mammoth task. She has been assisted by a superb team of educators: Mrs Lizé- Marie Jansen van Rensburg, Mrs Eleanor De Sousa and Mr Michael Mhlanga, as well as two co-opted members, Mrs Fari Vundla and Mrs Madréa Jordaan. A number of staff assisted with interviews, as focus group leaders and with the keeping of minutes. This is an appropriate time to remind parents that we value your input and that you are valuable members of the KPS family. On a sporting note, thank you to all the parents who supported the mini-hockey over the past two weekends. The coaches, managers and especially your children appreciate your presence and support. Thank you to MrsJordaan who tirelessly sought sponsorship for our mini-hockey goal boxes and medals/badges for our cross-country event that we are hosting on Saturday. Thank you to Aunty Mel who introduced the Wild Dog project to us on Monday. Her initiatives have put Kingfisher on the Eco-school map. Mrs R Campbell Brown Michael Angier Happy birthday to the following Kingfishers: Grade 3: Queen Mhelembe 30 August Grade 6: Jordan Greaver 29 August 1
