CHANGES IN HEALTH PROFESSIONS Health Professions new model started in the 2001-2002 academic year; transition programs are developed on an experimental basis for one full cycle, that is, for five years. Since 2006, programs applied to all institutions of higher education, fully implemented as of 2010. Entrance requirement: 12 th grade 5 years university level with two intermediate qualifications NURSING PROGRAM Enfermero(a) Básico(a) (Basic/Assistant Nurse) after 1 st year Enfermero (a)técnico(a) (Nurse Technician) after 3 rd year Enfermero(a) Profesional (Professional Nurse) after 5 th year HEALTH TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS Técnico(a) Básico(a) (Basic Technician) 1 st year (must continue for two more years) Técnico de la Salud (Health Technician) 3 rd year(may continue for two more years) Licenciado(a) (Licentiate) - 5 th year(in the area of specialization)
