Korean is the official language of South Korea and North Korea. Grammatically Korean is very similar to Japanese and about 70% of its vocabulary comes from Chinese. The Korean alphabet was invented in 1444 and made popular in 1446 during the reign of King Sejong.

Japanese is considered the most complex written language in the world. In order to get barely by, you need to learn all of the Hiragana and Katakana and at least a few hundred Kanji. Japanese uses a vast amount of foreign loan words ( 外来語 [gairaigo] - literally words from outside). You ll constantly hear familiar nouns and adjectives.

Thai is spoken exclusively in Thailand, by approximately 60 million people. The language is thought to be a form of Chinese that was gradually brought to the area between the 7th and 13th centuries. Thai is a tonal language. Its alphabet has 32 vowels and 44 consonants.
