Wittenborg University 1 Founded in 1987, Wittenborg University is one of the most international and diverse privately funded institutes in the Netherlands. As a notfor-proffit private University, Wittenborg offers management degrees in a range of fields to around 200 Dutch and International students at its campus in Apeldoorn, where it has been located since 2010. Mission Our mission is to develop young business oriented minds and to encourage these young people to engage in innovative and creative business in companies and organizations around the world, either working for others or in the instigation of business and entrepreneurship. We strive to bring expertise, knowledge and diversity to the local region of Apeldoorn, thereby enhancing the economy, culture and social environment around us. International Wittenborg University is one of the most international institutes of higher education in the Netherlands and this is represented by the more than 50 nationalities in its students, staff and management. Education Approach Wittenborg s education philosophy is to stimulate real life in its approach to education, providing a differentiated programme with traditional knowledge based teaching combined with a development of skills and competencies leading to a vocation training situation in which students can discover their strengths and weaknesses and build on the former and improve the latter. Wittenborg students will learn to identify the environment they are in and adapt accordingly. Wittenborg students will learn to say what they do, and do what they say.

Experienced and Qualified Staff A leading international Management institute requires its teaching staff to be industry-experienced and highly qualified. With its aim to fill its teaching positions with Postgraduate level lecturers from industry. It is the 12th largest city in the Netherlands, situated in a central location and only an hour from Amsterdam. With more than 150,000 inhabitants and more than 100,000 jobs within the municipality, it is a natural location for a progressive, private university. Wittenborg is situated within its own independent wing of the large modern Aventus College building located adjacent to the central railway station. Aventus is the largest further education provider in the region and with more than 20,000 students in further, vocational and adult education the college has become the natural partner for Wittenborg. Alongside of this partnership with Brighton, Wittenborg also works with the ANGELL Business School (Germany), Ecole de Savignac (France), Centro Superior de Hosteleria de Galicia (Spain), and the Business & Hotel Management School Lucerne (Switzerland) in the provision of a unique European Bachelor programme, known as the EuroBA, in which students study in at least three countries during their degree programme.

Wittenborg in Business 5 Wittenborg Net, or WiNet, stands for the Wittenborg University Network, which is the interface between Wittenborg s students and real life business projects. Wittenborg Net acts as an Entrepreneurship Incubator and is committed to providing the business school students with authentic business environments that they can study, and sometimes participate in. Wittenborg Net aims to create new brands, create and support new companies for and together with its business school students. The Network currently supports eight active business brands in the area of consultancy, training, research, labour supply, and website solutions. Furthermore, Wittenborg Net provides students with a platform in which they can develop business models and plans, without taking personal risk. Wittenborg University Network also provides a supporting link between the academic schools and the Research and Innovation Centre, which is currently involved in European Research projects in the fields of Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare, and Innovation in Education. Governance Wittenborg University s Board is the Stichting Wittenborg University Executive, a Netherlands Trust and is currently comprised of 2 Board Members, who each have their own specific responsibilities within the executive management of the University.. The Executive reports to and is overseen by the Advisory Board, an independent trust called the Stichting Wittenborg Advisory Board. Friends of Wittenborg 6 Seminars As part of many of its Bachelor and Master modules, Wittenborg invites speakers from companies and organisations around the world to give a seminar or workshop that will inspire its students and bring the texts books to life. The sessions vary from a 2 hour lecture, given by an entrepreneur to a full-day workshop given by an international HRM manager from a leading IT company. Wittenborg welcomes guest lecturers throughout the year. Project weeks Undergraduate students are given the opportunity to complete 12 project weeks that deal with real-life cases, instigated by local and international companies and organisations. Consultancy & Research All Bachelor and Master students are required to carry out a piece of research at the end of their studies which will lead to their Final Project. This can be an academic dissertation, a business plan, a consultancy project or a multimedial project, that includes the possibility to create and organise an event for a project instigator. Students are always required to base their research and final project on a real life case and Wittenborg welcomes companies and organisations to innate its students in real life research and consultancy projects, and is pleased to discuss possible consultancy projects with profit and not for profit organisations and match the right students to them. These projects can be in a wide range of areas, such as business plans, marketing cases, customer research, branding, logistics management, sales and business to business. Wittenborg invites companies and businesses, government organisations, NGO s and entrepreneurs to take up the challenge and set a group of Wittenborg students a real life case! Work Placement Students at Wittenborg are required to gain some industry and work experience during their studies. A period of work placement can last from between 3 and 6 months depending on the requirements of the company or organisation. Students can complete work placement in any suitable organisation locally and internationally and Wittenborg is always pleased to work with new internship providers.
