Position Announcement Department Head Department of Finance and Economics College of Business University of Tennessee at Chattanooga The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applicants for the position of Department Head for the newly formed Department of Finance and Economics in the College of Business. The Department Head oversees the academic leadership of the Department, works with other programs in the College and University, and maintains and enhances the connection between the Department and the business community. The Department Head is also responsible for establishing the vision and direction for the finance and economics programs. The Department Head will serve on the College s Executive Committee and will report directly to the Dean of the College of Business. Requirements include having a PhD or DBA in finance, economics, or closely related field from an accredited university; a record of accomplishments consistent with appointment as a tenured Full Professor; a record of strong leadership within a collegial and team-oriented academic environment; demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with external constituencies. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Professor Position The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications from exceptionally qualified candidates in Computer Science or Computer Engineering for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning August 1, 2017. A Ph.D. is required and strongest consideration will be given to candidates with a strong record of scholarship in data science areas including machine learning, data-intensive analytics in smart cities and infrastructure sensing, data mining, unstructured data analysis, modeling and simulation, or predictive analytics. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is located in the heart of the Scenic City on the Tennessee River. The city boasts multiple attractions including nature preserves and outdoor adventures, cultural events from the City Symphony to the Chattanooga Theater, as well as distinct neighborhoods and events that can only be found in the heart of the Tennessee Valley. The School of Education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seeks applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty member in the area of school leadership/instructional leadership, at the Assistant or Associate rank, to begin in fall 2016. Summer teaching opportunities will be available as well. POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor, Educational Leadership EFFECTIVE DATE: August 1, 2016 SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS AT UTC: The School of Education of the College of Health, Education, and Professional Studies at UTC offers four School Leadership programs. There are two concentrations in the M.Ed. in School Leadership: the Principal Licensure concentration and the Teacher Leadership concentration. The department also offers a Certificate in School Leadership and an Ed.S. in Principal Licensure for individuals who already hold the master's degree in a related field and wish to pursue a TN endorsement as a principal/supervisor. The M.Ed. and certificate principal licensure programs are nationally recognized by ELCC. The M.Ed. in School Leadership/Principal Licensure concentration, the Ed.S. and the Certificate in School Leadership are designed for teachers who aspire to become school principals, assistant principals, supervisors, or central office personnel. Courses are aligned directly with the Tennessee Learning Centered Leadership System standards or Tennessee Instructional Leadership standards. Upon completion of the program and a passing score on the State exam for principal licensure, each leads to a TN endorsement as a "principal/supervisor". The M.Ed. in School Leadership/Teacher Leadership concentration is designed for experienced teachers who want to remain in the classroom and exercise leadership through school-wide collaboration, mentoring new teachers, departmental or grade-level leadership, leading professional development, and the improvement of curriculum and instructional strategies. This degree does not lead to an additional license endorsement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate degree from a NAEP accredited university in educational leadership or related field; 1

Knowledge of standards-based principal licensure accreditation, such as ISLLC, ELCC, and the TN instructional leadership standards; Potential for success in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service at a level appropriate for future promotion and tenure expectations; Demonstrated/exhibited collaboration with faculty and students on issues related to programmatic standards; Preferred: Administrative or leadership experience in a K-12 educational setting, such as principal, director, assistant superintendent, or superintendent. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching graduate courses in the Masters and Ed.S. programs in school leadership with the ability to provide instruction in a variety of modalities including online; Engaging in active scholarship related to research and grant acquisition; Supervising practicum and/or internship experiences; Participating in service to the university, community and profession. Our curriculum is work / experience embedded, meaning that everyone pursuing the degree is actively working and engaged in various areas of professional practice. Unlike a number of Ed.D. programs that may allow evaluation projects or large program assessments as a capstone event, we require a full research dissertation as part of the program. All coursework, deliverables, and milestone accomplishments are based on our participants ability to demonstrate competency in a number of specific domains. Our approach to Learning avoids a myopic focus on formal education and public schooling. In fact, we see learning as change and transformation relative to cognition and human behavior in multiple venues. Beyond traditional learning theory, we explore theory and concepts that extend beyond most participants formal education.
