Introduction to GED Manager for Corrections This training guide will introduce you to GED Manager, a web-based program management and administrative tool developed to help administer your GED program for corrections. GED Manager offers an efficient and streamlined way to: Create an account for a test-taker in a corrections facility View test-taker activity and scores View test-taker demographic information Access GED Manager at GED.com/gedmanagerLogin (Bookmark this page for easy access) Access and Log in to GED Manager Access to GED Manager requires approval from your state GED Administrator. Once approved, you will receive a link in your email to log in: 1. Click the link and you will be guided to the login page 2. Select the Forgot Password link 3. Return to your email inbox and retrieve the reset password email 4. Click the link to reset your password 5. Type a new password, verify that password 6. Create an Account on Behalf of Corrections Test-taker Once you login to GED Manager, you can initiate creating an account for your test-taker in just a few easy steps. From the drop down menu in the far top left hand corner of the home screen: Select Create Corrections Student The below Create Student screen appears after selection. Enter student first, middle (optional) and last name Enter email address where you want to receive correspondence for this student o Not the student s email address for corrections Testing location will default to your state and location Corrections program defaults are based on your user ID and credentials Click Continue. Automatically the MyGED portal launches. MyGED is the start-to-finish online support tool for everything your test-taker needs to prepare for the test, perform well on the test, and move on to good job and good wages after the test. As the corrections administrator or authorized user scheduler, you will create the account on their behalf in three easy steps. On the Contact Information page: Enter the students name Enter your students date of birth Enter address information (i.e. correction facility address) Enter a primary phone number Click Continue. On the Background Information page: Select your state (defaults to your jurisdiction) Select No to Are you currently enrolled in high school? Click Continue. On the Ready to Test page: Select No to bypass testing accommodations Click Continue. GED Testing Service www.gedtestingservice.com 6
The account is successfully created when the MyGED dashboard appears! Once the account is created, click the End Impersonation button at the top of the screen to be returned back to the GED Manager page GED Testing Service www.gedtestingservice.com 7
Manage Students in GED Manager To search for a student, select from the drop down Click Manage Student Search for students by: Last name, first name City, phone number, date of birth, or email address Click to select the students based on the results returned. Scheduling GED Ready : The Official Practice Test GED Ready is the official practice test of the 2014 GED program. It s the only practice test designed to tell test-takers if they re ready for the real thing, and gives first-hand experience answering computer-based test questions written and developed by the test creators. Once a student account is created, they will appear in the RegMan application. Follow the exact process today to schedule GED Ready Scheduling the GED Test The 2014 GED test was built from the ground up to provide test-takers the best standardsbased and technology-enhanced test available. It s the only high school equivalency test fully aligned to national and state career and college readiness standards and requires test-takers to demonstrate basic computer skills. A few things to know about scheduling the GED operational test for your corrections testtaker: RegMan will continue to be used to schedule the GED test Requirements for the student appear as approved and ready to schedule in RegMan o All test authorizations and exceptions are approved o o Requested accommodations are approved All demographic- and jurisdiction-specific questions have been answered in the MyGED online portal Note: Questions must be answered one time only GED Testing Service www.gedtestingservice.com 10
Follow these steps to schedule the GED test: Search for student in GED Manager View student account detail by selecting the student s name Select Impersonate to automatically be directed to MyGED Select the Start Scheduling button on the Schedule tile. The demographic questions will automatically appear. Click through and answer all of the demographic questions. This step will need to be completed only one time in the process. GED Testing Service www.gedtestingservice.com 12

After completing all demographic- and jurisdiction-specific questions, the below screen will appear. You have successfully completed the pre-schedule test questions and are ready to log in to RegMan and schedule the GED test. End the impersonation session by clicking End Impersonation and you re ready to schedule in RegMan. Viewing Scores on GED Manager Once a student completes the GED test, scores will be viewable in GED Manager. Search for the student in GED Manager Click on Student to view the Student Detail page Click on the results drop down View student s GED test and GED Ready scores GED Testing Service www.gedtestingservice.com 16
Viewing the Scores page on MyGED In addition to viewing students scores within GED Manager, you can also view students Scores pages within MyGED. To view the Scores page: Search for the student in GED Manager Click on the student name to view the student details page Click on the Impersonate button Click the Get Your Scores button.
