MSC in Financial Services The Financial Services Industry is conscious of a lack of good graduates with in-depth knowledge of Financial Services. The Programme is therefore aimed at those who wish to excel in the industry quickly and successfully. While there are a number of generic programmes in Financial Services at MSc level they virtually all fail to provide adequate detailed knowledge of the Financial Services Industry. There is a marked absence of an MSc Programme which provides suitable training and insight into the real world of Financial Services and its products. The University of Buckingham is developing a specialist programme to start in January 2007 to fill this void and will be directed towards students who wish to enter the Financial Services industry in areas including insurance broking, the pensions industry and mortgage brokerage. There will be two main elements to the Programme, the practical and vocational orientation of the teaching will be complimented by academic rigour required at MSc level. Students will produce a dissertation under the guiding supervision of professional and academic faculty. This dissertation will be a substantial piece of research providing an overall assessment of the students achievement.
