CARDIOLOGY Blair Erb, MD Blair D. Erb, Jr., MD, has served as chief medical resident and clinical instructor in medicine at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Erb completed his cardiology fellowship and served as chief fellow in cardiology back at Vanderbilt and as interim director of the echocardiography laboratories at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He founded Cardiology Consultants of Bozeman, PC (now Bozeman Health Cardiology Clinic) in 2002. Dr. Erb was elected a trustee of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for a five-year term in 2013. He previously served as governor of the Montana chapter of the ACC. Visiting days/hours: Fourth Wednesday of each month from 8 AM-12 PM and 1-3:30 PM Specialties: In 2010, Dr. Bruce completed a one year Mohs Fellowship Training Program accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery specifically focused on the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Under the direction of Ronald Siegle, MD, Brian Biernat, MD, and Peter Seline, MD, Dr. Bruce performed over 1,000 cases of Mohs micrographic surgery and advanced reconstructions. Dr. Bruce is only one of five dermatological surgeons to have completed this type of fellowship in the entire state of Montana, and the only Mohs surgeon in southwestern Montana. OCULOPLASTIC (EYE) SURGERY Jeff Peckinpaugh, MD Peckinpaugh Oculoplastic Surgery Bozeman, Montana Jeffrey L. Peckinpaugh, M.D. is a native Montanan that is fellowship trained as an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is one of a few surgeons in Montana to complete a formal fellowship training program in the field of oculoplastic, which is also referred to as ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Peckinpaugh is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Peckinpaugh graduated from Montana State University magna cum laude (4.0 GPA) and received his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He completed his surgical training in ophthalmology at the University of Washington Medical Center. ORTHOPEDICS: SPINAL Benjamin Smith, DO Bridger Orthopedics Bozeman, Montana Dr. Smith has extensive training in operative and non-operative care relating to the spine. He recently completed a premiere adult spine fellowship at Duke University where he mastered minimally invasive surgical (MIS) techniques in both fusion (XLIF, TLIF, and ALIF) and nonfusion procedures (microdiscectomies that are performed through a 18mm tube with the assistance of a microscope) along with complex revision and deformity surgery. He utilizes cutting-edge technology, including patient specific implants, motion preservation surgery (total disc replacement), and has extensive state of the art training with intraoperative computer tomography (ict) navigation. Dr. Smith believes in a global approach to each patient and that communication between the patient and the team of physicians, therapists, and nurses is the most important aspect in achieving a successful outcome.
