ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE 307 WES WATKINS CENTER 405 744.7519 OSU-ELI@OKSTATE.EDU ELI.OKSTATE.EDU Correspondence Education Partners with Study Abroad to Aid Distance Testing The Correspondence Education (CE) Testing Facility serves a large number of clients annually. It is the proctored testing location for students currently enrolled in Correspondence Education courses, either year-long or semester-based. It also serves those taking courses through OSU Arts & Sciences, Business, and Engineering Outreach offices, as well as supplying a dedicated examination site for local students enrolled in distance courses with other institutions. Some features of the CE Testing Facility include: A print-based testing area accommodating 18 students. Generally, no appointment is necessary, unless required by a course instructor. A computer-based testing area accommodating 10 students. Appointments are necessary for the computer stations and are scheduled in the CE computer database from 8 A.M. 3 P.M. daily. Call 405.744.6390, email ics-inf@okstate.edu, or visit the CE office at 309 WWC to make an appointment. Hours of operation are Monday Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. (including noon) any day OSU is open. Recently, another option was added to help Study Aboard participants returning to the U.S. before their overseas courses are completed. Evelyn Ferchau, CE Manager, says, We felt the CE Testing Facility was perfectly set up to also help students finish coursework they might have started during their study aboard experience. Josh Pontrelli, OSU Study Abroad Student Exchange Coordinator, adds We re excited to work within IS&O to allow our students to take exams that may not align with OSU s academic calendar. This initiative is a pivotal part of OSU s Finish in Four campaign and will give students the option to complete their tests from abroad while not missing any classes in Stillwater. OSU Study Abroad looks forward to strengthening our inter-departmental relationships and collaborating with CE in the future. The CE Testing Facility has been a real help to Anastasia Cunningham, senior HRAD major. I studied abroad at Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen, Scotland, this past fall semester. At RGU, students do not take finals until after Christmas break. Since I had to be back at OSU, I took my exams at the CE Testing Facility. They really worked with me to set up times to do that. They were very helpful and made the process easy. I didn t have to worry about sending my exams back to Scotland. They did it. Here is a picture of me in London for a long weekend. I loved my time abroad.

Malaysia has one of the largest student population in the OSU in the 80s and 90s. Therefore, we would like to send more of our students to Malaysia, he told reporters after calling on the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, who is also OSU alumni. Hargis also welcomed more Malaysian students to further their studies in the OSU.
