Welcome Officer! About Jennifer Why are you a member of the IIA? I became a member in 1990 when I took my first internal audit position. The Institute not only provided foundational training, but also provided guidance and a certification path to assist me in obtaining the CIA designation. How has it impacted your career or professional development? I have a great passion for our profession and IIA membership has granted me access to comprehensive professional education, resources such as the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), and professional discussion forums. From Mohegan Sun Casino, Hasbro, FM Global, Amica Insurance and BJ s, to my current position as the Assessment Manager of Internal Control & Process Enhancement at CVS Caremark, the IIA has equipped me with a foundation on which I base all of my reviews and audits. Why did you decide to serve as the Ocean State secretary? Serving as the secretary is my way of giving back to the profession. It allows me to be actively involved in our local audit community as well as our National Leadership program.
