GETTING TO MACKINAC ISLAND Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry is extending a discounted rate for roundtrip passage to MPA Continuing Education Symposium attendees of $18 for adults and $9 for children (5-12 years of age). Children under five years of age rides for free. Symposium attendees using Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry will save $4-6 over normal passage rates. Or, guests can purchase discounted tickets at the Mackinaw City and St. Ignace Star Line Mackinac Island ferry ticket booths by mentioning they are with Michigan Pharmacists Association. Complimentary overnight parking is available at both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace locations. INTENDED AUDIENCE Continuing education activities were designed specifically for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists. PCE CREDIT STATEMENT These activities are structured to meet knowledge- and application-based educational needs. A knowledge-based activity acquires factual knowledge. An application-based activity applied to information learned in the timeframe allotted. Information in knowledge and application-type activities is based on evidence as accepted in the literature by the health care professions. These activities are accredited through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for pharmacist continuing education credit. These activities are accredited through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for pharmacist and pharmacy technician continuing education credit. Participants must complete an online activity evaluation and posttest at for each activity attended with a passing score of 70 percent or greater by Sept. 7, 2017. Posttests will not be graded and credit will not be processed until the online evaluation and posttest has officially closed for response on Sept. 7. Please allow MPA two weeks to grade posttests and process and upload credit to CPE Monitor after the posttest has closed. NOTE: ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit more than 60 days after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online evaluation and posttest by the established deadline to allow sufficient time for processing. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit through CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed PCE credits. MPA, as an ACPEaccredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit using this tracking system. Pharmacist and pharmacy technician participants must provide their NABP e-profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) when they register for a CPE activity or complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the participant to provide the correct information (i.e., e-profile identification number and date of birth in MMDD format). If this information is not correctly provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Partial credit will not be awarded. Michigan Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Initial Release Date: 8/24/17; Expiration Date: 8/24/20 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY Refunds (less a $25 administrative fee) will be granted for cancellations received in writing (postmark or fax date) prior to Aug. 10, 2017.
