Graduate Corner Graduates for April 2011 - May 2011 That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well. - Abraham Lincoln Career Step would like to extend our warmest congratulations to recent graduates of our program. Their names are listed below along with any comments they wished to make. Congratulations and good luck to everyone! USA Graduates Amy - Leland, NC I have been very pleased with the training I received through Career Step. I passed my exam on the first try with honors and was very pleased with my results. It has now been 2 months since I graduated, and I should be starting next week as a full-time employee. Thank you for the excellent training Career Step! Andrea - West Jordan, UT Career Step is a great program to help you get trained in becoming a great MT and further your education in the medical world!! I would recommend it to anyone! Angela - Jacksonville, FL I was blessed with the opportunity to enroll in the medical transcription program. It is very thorough and the support given is great. I am proud to say I am a high honors graduate with a job as an entry-level medical transcriptionist with opportunities to grow and advance in this field. Ashley - Ganado, TX I would highly recommend the Career Step training program to anyone. In the program everything was word for word, very clear as to what needed to be done, and completing the program at my own pace was a plus. Beverly - Fitzgerald, GA I wish to thank Career Step for the excellent training their course has given to me. I also thank all the student support team, as well as the graduate support team for being there to morally support me throughout this past year. I was pleasantly surprised with the opportunity of a job just as soon as I had received my first final exam results. I have just been hired and am currently awaiting the personal trainer to contact me regarding my first day on the job. Thanks Career Step for all you ve done. Christie - Jacksonville, FL I was a high honors Graduate from the MT program and I thought, Wow, I am going to have my pick of the litter to work for and I did. InScribe called and asked me to join them. I was not able to go through InScribe s usual training course due to unforeseeable circumstances, and I had to start my evaluation basically blind. When you are looking at company s to work for make sure you ask lots of questions. Will they have a mentor for you? How long will you work with the mentor before being released out into your transcriptions? Be completely open and honest with the hiring manager about your own needs. Figure out what you want, go after it, and don t stop until you get there!!!!!! Christina - Corona, CA I was hired 9 days after graduating. Thanks! Clare - Syosset, NY This was a very challenging course. However, you get out of it what you put into it. In my case, I am employed full time. I spent over seven months working on this course every night and the better part of my weekends. My hard work and dedication paid off. I graduated with honors on my first attempt at the final exam. I am currently using the tools I learned in the program to find employment, and I have no doubt that I will become a successfully employed medical transcriptionist in the near future. Connie - Chicora, PA I really enjoyed the training process. It did take me longer than I expected to finish due to 4 eye surgeries, which kept me off of the computer for long periods of time. I am so glad now that I was persistent and graduated. Within 6 weeks of graduation I received a job offer.

Deborah - Jasper, AL Thanks to all of the Career Step employees who made this such a pleasant learning experience! Franney - Mobile, AL Career Step s course thoroughly prepares you to enter the market confident and fully equipped to do excellent transcription. Jacqueline - Kalispell, MT I recently graduated from CS with honors, and I was employed within 1 month. I actually had the option of choosing which company I wanted to go with. Once I started working I knew how much information I had learned through the Career Step course. I have been recommending Career Step to friends and family. I love my stay-at-home job, hours, etc. Career Step was a great choice for me, and I know it will be for you. Jan - Florence, OR The Career Step program worked for me. With a completion time of one year plus, I earned a honors score on the final exam the first time and then was hired by the first employer I applied to. It is up to me now to take the wealth of knowledge I learned at Career Step and move on to my step of learning on the job. Wish me luck! Thank you, Career Step. Judith - Creve Coeur, IL I am glad I signed up for training with Career Step. I felt the training was adequate in preparing me for my future as an MT. As I start the application process, I look forward to the adventure and appreciate all the advice I have received from the Career Step staff. They were always courteous, helpful, and friendly. Thank you! Karen - Jeromesville, OH The Career Step MTE course was extremely challenging, and I enjoyed every minute of it! This course is packed full of everything you will need to be a great MT. I felt very prepared and confident when taking my final exam and testing with potential employers. Thank you, Career Step! Karen - Snohomish, WA I am a new graduate of Career Step and was referred to Ozescribe as an entry-level MT. The Australian-based company offered me a position in their company as an independent contractor after passing their MT test online and a referral from Career Step. I am very happy with Ozescribe. I am able to live outside of the US and be an international independent contractor with Ozescribe. I am now doing my internship and will soon graduate to paid work. I want to thank Career Step for their excellent support throughout my training and job hunting, and good luck to those who are looking for work. Kristi - Deshler, NE Thank you very much for all your comments and help through student and graduate support. The course has trained me very well. Now that I am working, I often refer back to my Career Step notes. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in transcription! Krystle - Sanford, NC There were times through the training program that I just wasn t sure if I could finish. I had to purchase extensions, and my morale was really down at times. But I kept plugging away at the files, kept clicking next, and learning as I went. Now that I am an honors graduate, I feel really good about what I accomplished through Career Step. Thank you for a wonderful program! Lana - Hindsville, AR Hello! My name is Lana. I was a surgical technologist, but I wanted to use my medical knowledge to get a job working from home. I did a Google search on MT schools, and I did a lot of research. I finally decided on Career Step, and I am SO glad I did! Career Step really prepares you for the working world as an MT. I made it through the course in a little less than a year, and I got hired less than 48 hours after I took the final!! I would recommend Career Step to anyone and everyone interested in pursuing a career in medical transcription. I would not recommend other schools! I have many friends who have gone to other schools are still remain unemployed. Thankfully, I chose the right school that has a great reputation of producing top-notch students. Career Step really prepared me for employee testing and ultimately, employment. I am so proud to say that I am an honors Career Step graduate of 2011!!! Lisa - Derry, NH I was doubtful throughout the course as to whether I would ever be good enough; every report seemed very difficult. With the number of reports and the text comparison and comments, it did eventually click for me. I have a job offer now, about a month after graduating. I am going to accept. Thank you, Career Step!

Maggie - Alsea, OR Career Step exceeded my expectations and I am grateful for the experience that I received from this program. I highly recommend anything CS to anybody! I am a working IC now and am so happy with my job choice. I only am here because of the fantastic program that CS provides. I have no plans of ever leaving the MT job that I have now. I am so happy and encourage anyone who is wanting a stay-at-home MT job to continue pushing forward and you will succeed. Melanie - Kirtland, NM I was prepared to get a job as an MT right after completing the program. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to understand what the doctors were saying. The practice afforded by Career Step s practicum is fabulous and definitely prepared me to be successful. Melissa - Polo, IL The training from Career Step is very thorough and well written. My only regret is that I did not take full advantage of the forums, chat room, and student support. Take the time for consultations, especially the final exam consultation. The final exam consultation and Action Plan program are terrific! Everyone I have had contact with at Career Step has been very polite and helpful. Nanette - Huntle, IL Career Step is the best medical transcription program ever! The layout of the program is fantastic! While I didn t think it would take me as long as it did to complete the course, I m glad it did. I don t think I would have learned as much information and retained that information had I finished more quickly. Because of Career Step, I completed the course with a sense of accomplishment and independence to become a great MT! Neilia - Fort Riley, KS Career Step gave me the training I needed to confidently begin a new career in the field of medical transcription. Within a month of graduation I was hired and feel that every day I have used the knowledge gained from Career Step. Thanks for an excellent course! Robin - Leeds, AL Thank you for preparing me for a career in the medical transcription/editing industry. As an honors graduate, I know realize all the blood sweat and tears was worth it!!!! Stephanie - Bellevue, NE I was so worried about taking the final. I had been taking the course for almost 2 years and was not sure if I would be able to remember everything! I missed passing by 1 point the first time and then passed it with honors the second time. I am so glad that I am finished and could not be happier with my experience! Tara - Lincoln, NE I started the program in January 2009 and graduated with honors in April 2011. I had 2 job offers on the same day less than a week after I graduated with Honors! I would recommend Career Step s training to anyone! The coursework was easy to navigate and follow, and the people at Career Step are so friendly and helpful. Terry - Des Arc, AR This is a very tough course and there were many times that I felt I would not be able to this, but it was well worth all the effort! Career Step is an excellent school with a well thought out course that WILL prepare you fully for the world of medical transcription. I would not be where I am today without this program!! Tiffany - White Sands Missile Range, NM I was always very skeptical when it came to taking courses online. I always felt that it would be better to be in a classroom environment, but when I started Career Step, boy did I get comfortable quick. I was amazed at how much support was there for me, and I sure did use it. The student support team was always there to listen to me and encourage me and help me get my mind back on the right track. It was like they were my Career Step therapists. They helped me with anything and everything. This is where that saying you can lead a horse to water but you can t make it drink comes into play. WOW! Thank you so much, Career Step! Canada and Australia/New Zealand Graduates Cheryl-Ann - Nepean, ON I applied for a job online on a Sunday and received a call from one of the leading MT companies the very next day! It confirmed to me that CanScribe was the absolute BEST option for training and it has paid off!

Christine - Toronto, ON I absorbed more information than I thought possible in one year and feel well prepared for an entry-level position. Julianna - Ottawa, ON Career Step s program was a prefect choice for me. I finished it in 4 months and graduated with high honors. I now have two great jobs! Linda - Abbotsford, BC This course fully prepares you for working as an MT. Each module is well presented and builds upon the next. There is no shortage of student support whether it is by phone, email, or student forums. There is always someone there to encourage and support you! I highly recommend it to anyone considering working in this career field! through. The staff is probably the best out there and willing to help you in every way possible. I think they are more like life coaches than instructors...when you are down they help you to pick up and move on with confidence. This was definitely one of the best decisions I made in my life. Thank you Career Step (CanScribe), you have definitely changed my life for the better!!! Sue - Rotorua, NZ The course is excellent; everything is covered. It took longer than I expected and was much more thorough. It was hard work at times but worth it. A bit like getting a university degree in MT! Melissa - Sicamous, BC I cannot say enough about how wonderful this course was. Thanks to the Career Step program and CanScribe, I was offered a contract within two weeks of receiving my final exam marks. Wendy - Minnsdosa, MB My overall experience was amazing!! The course is very in-depth and some areas are even tough but Career Step simply wants you to be one of the best. I have to say I couldn t have picked a better school to take this course We are so proud of all the Career Step graduates and want to hear about your success! Please keep in touch and share your experiences with us. Your story might be what inspires other Career Step students to tackle and complete the program. E-mail: graduates@careerstep.com.
