Structure of qualification files Part A : general description of the profession - (study, orientation, career counselling) Part B : core task areas, overview of competences and work processes (formal requirements) Part C : elaborate description of knowledge, skills, competences needed (knowledge, skills, competences needed) Part D : accountability report (authors, parties involved; evaluation/monitoring plan; issues)

Application of qualification information Editors: Developing educational materials Examination Schools: Planning school curriculum Development of portfolio systems, monitoring results Employment office: Competence test Job search / career switch

The procedure 1. The social partners in a particular sector submit job profiles 2. The Centres of Expertise develop the qualifications and social and cultural qualifications are added to the job profiles 3. The Minister of Education formally approves this document 4. The schools/colleges develop their curricula, based on the national qualification
