Experiences spring 2014 International tutoring enriches life! First days are hard but if you prepare yourself for it, it s easier. You get to see the university, the city of Tampere and Finland differently. Tutoring is more difficult if the tutee studies different subject than you. New people, new cultures! Co-operate with your tutor pair! Co-operate with your student association! You don t have to have time every week but try to catch up with your tutee every now and then.
Experiences spring 2014 Useful for working life: organizational skills responsibility punctuality problem solving skills self-confidence leadership networking & contacts around the world intercultural competence language skills
Exchange student survey 2012 All statements about student tutoring were rated positively. Almost all respondents think student tutoring service is necessary. Contact between respondents and student tutors before the arrival was sufficient for most of the respondents, tutors were able to help them when they needed them and they were there to assist respondents once they had arrived.
