Students may opt to take an end of year AP exam and depending on their score, may be granted college credit. Traditionally with a score of a 3, 4, or 5, a student can submit his or
her AP scores for credit for an approved equivalent course at that college or university they are attending. However, AP students may find that although they took the course and the AP exam, their score isn t high enough to be granted college credit. Additionally, at some elite colleges, AP scores are not utilized to grant credit, even when a student has scored the highest score of a 5.
