Global Institute of Public Health (GIPH) Global Institute of Public Health is hosted and administered by the Ananthapuri Educational Trust- a not for profit organization aimed at fostering higher education in medical science and public health.prof Dr. A. Marthanda Pillai, renowned neurosurgeon, widely known for his academic excellence and research interest in diverse areas, heads the trust. Under his guidance, the Ananthapuri Educational trust, which was founded a decade ago has made major strides in the field of medical and technical education in the country and currently runs more than 20 medical and related courses. He is also the Chairman and Director of the Global Institute of Public Health. Master of Public Health (MPH) Program The Master of Public Health(MPH) is a two-year post-graduate degree program. Our MPH program is a high-intensive, demanding, interdisciplinary program emphasizing studentdirected competency-based, learning and problem solving, enabling them to acquire fundamental public health skills with value addition. It is envisaged as a comprehensive MPH program based on the principles and practices in public health with suitable and relevant modules catering to the needs of the public health systems in India and abroad For more details regarding the course, please visit our web page, http://giph.in/mph_program.php Course affiliation The Master of Public Health program offered by GIPH is recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) as per decision of the Governing Council of KUHS (No. 39.28 dated 12.06.2017). This is the first and only MPH program recognized by KUHS. 3

Course duration The courseis of two years - divided into two academic calendar years with exams at end of each year. Eligibility for admission Medical Graduates (MBBS, BDS, BHMS,BAMS,BUMS,BSMS),Graduates in Veterinary Sciences (BVSc), BSc (Nursing), BSc (MLT), BPharm and BPT are eligible to apply. However, those with above degrees and postgraduate degrees recognized by Kerala University for Health Sciences (for medical Graduates) or Kerala University (for other degrees as mentioned above) will also be considered for the MPH program. All undergraduates and postgraduates belonging to any of the courses in KUHS with an examination or paper on public health areconsidered eligible. Please note: Degrees earned through a correspondence course will not be considered as eligibility for seeking admission to the course. Method of selection The selection of the eligible candidates for admission to MPH program shall be done by a common entrance examination as decided by Government of Kerala. The entrance exam will be conducted by LBS institute under Government of Kerala at Trivandrum on 08 th November 2017. MPH Program details The MPH program is designed for Modular teaching and shall employ the following mixed methods for individual subjects- Lecture classes, Field trainings, assignments, Seminars and presentations, Workshops, Projects. Why study MPH in GIPH? An institute with a global vision and leadership Lately there has been enormous demand for qualified and trained public health specialists in India and other developing countries in Asia and Africa. However, there are only a few institutes in these countries, which offer high quality specialized training in public health suited for the needs of countries like India. It was in this context that a group of Indian public health visionaries came together to develop a state-of-the art public health institute a few years ago, and thus was born the Global Institute of Public Health (GIPH). Many Indian public health experts working across the globe own up this venture and contribute ideas to it. GIPH is envisioned as a new-age Public health teaching and research institute with a global vision. Considering many factors especially the unique position that Kerala state enjoys in the global public health map, the consensus was to base the institute in Kerala. The institute is also attached to a 500-bedded tertiary care teaching hospital, Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute (AHRI), which conducts National Board of Examination, accredited Postgraduate programs in Cardiology, Nephrology, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine and General Medicine and various other certified masters program. The attached College of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council and is affiliated Kerala University of Health Sciences and offers BSc (Nursing) and specialized MSc (Nursing) programs.
