Approximately 87.5 percent of AHS graduates continue their education beyond high school; therefore, the tasks of applying for entrance to college, seeking financial aid, and pursuing scholarships are important ones to most seniors. Those of us who work in Student Services believe it is our responsibility to assist you as you prepare for life after graduation. Included in this bulletin is information about senior expenses, options after high school, college visits, college application process, transcripts, ACT/SAT, financial aid, and important dates for your senior year. Also, you will find the website address for the scholarship bulletin that will be updated monthly (September through May). It is your responsibility to read the scholarship bulletin and pick up applications. It is our hope that you will benefit from all we have to offer you and that your senior year will be a wonderful experience. Navigating a Campus Visit Make a plan in advance Ask Questions! (e.g. admissions requirements, cost, financial aid, etc). Take a tour: Residence Hall, Library, Gym Dine on campus Visit the bookstore Talk to current students Talk to professor/academic department Read bulletin boards & grab school newspaper Stop by Financial Aid or other key office Listen to student radio station Attend a performance or sporting event Take pictures & have fun! Participate in a campus tradition ON-SITE COLLEGE VISITS Pre-approval process for college visits taken during the school week Two pre-approved excused absence is allowed for students to go visit a college campus. See Ms. Jackson in Student Services at least 5 days prior to your planned college visit to receive instructions to get college visit excused.

TRANSCRIPTS SENDING TO COLLEGES Send them electronically through CFNC, OR if out of state, request them to be sent by Ms. Jackson. ALL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE REQUESTED 3 WEEKS BEFORE DEADLINE! Final transcripts are automatically sent to the school of your choice after graduation.
