Recruited to Emory as Program Director in 1988 (thru 2000), I have also served as Chief of Service at Grady Memorial Hospital for twenty five years. My work included the ongoing clinical and surgical training of residents in ophthalmology, and also involved the ophthalmic education of other medical specialties, medical students, and physician assistant students, and other healthcare practice providers. Retired, but still teaching!!! Stephen Brown, MD Undergraduate degree from Princeton University. Medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Internal Medicine Residency completed at Northwestern University s McGaw Medical Center and his Pulmonary fellowship at New York University. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. Currently: Private practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has served as a member of the clinical Faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine for nearly 20 years. He has lectured internationally in many aspects of pulmonary, critical care, sleep and palliative medicine. He enjoys bicycling and collecting vintage high school and college yearbooks as well as comic strip related art and paraphernalia. Greg Burke, PA-C, MMSc, DFAAPA BS in Applied Biology from Georgia Tech MMSc Emory University Emory PA Program Greg is currently practicing general pediatrics with Northlake Pediatric Associates in Stone Mountain GA. He also has a private business, PA Innovations, placing central lines at various metro Atlanta hospitals. Before rejoining Northlake Peds, Greg worked with Piedmont Radiology in Interventional Radiology for 5 years. He has also spent 5 years in Thoracic Surgery with Emory at Crawford Long Hospital and 5 years in General Pediatrics. Greg is active in the Emory University Physician Assistant Program. He is on staff at Emory University as a Clinical Instructor and Learning Society Facilitator. He also serves as a guest lecturer, lab instructor, and clinical preceptor for both Emory University and the Mercer University Physician Programs Chris Carter, PA-C, MMSc Undergraduate work at Oglethorpe University. She has been with Georgia Skin Specialists in Atlanta since 2002 where she practices general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She also serves as a lecturer, lab instructor and clinical preceptor for the Emory PA Program. Carrie married a fellow Emory PA program classmate, Evan Howell, who works in Emergency Medicine and is a VPO for Apollo MD. They have 2 beautiful children together. Jesse T. Jacob, MD Johns Hopkins University MD at the University of South Florida Residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Fellowship in Infectious Diseases, Emory University, Atlanta, GA Dr. Jacob is Associate Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is currently based at Emory University Hospital Midtown, where he serves as Hospital Epidemiologist and Director of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program. Dr. Jacob s research focuses on several areas: prevention of healthcare-associated infections; the epidemiology and prevention of multidrug resistant organisms; and approaches to antibiotic optimization. He is an active member of the Infectious Disease Society of America and Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Virginia Joslin, PA-C, MPH 1983 graduate of the Emory University PA Program 1992 Masters of Public Health degree from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health 1986 Fellowship in Geriatrics, Stanford University. Currently: Retired Assistant Professor in the Emory School of Medicine and Director of Special Projects in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She held the position of the Emory PA Program and Division Director from 1991-2007. Her clinical background includes Adult and Pediatric ENT Surgery at Emory, and General Internal Medicine at DeKalb Grady Neighborhood Health Clinic. She provides clinical care at the Dahlonega Community Helping Place free clinic as a volunteer. She has been the ECG Course Director/Instructor for the Emory PA Program for many years, and Co-presenter of the workshop on Interpretation of Heart Sounds with Karen Newell at multiple AAPA, GAPA, and the annual Emory Board Review conferences. She was a recipient of the Dean s Teaching Award from the Emory School of Medicine in 2010, and received the AAPA PAragon Educator of the Year award in 1999.
