Functional Background Financial Aid Self-Service Service allows students to view, update, and print records from the Banner Financial Aid database using Web technology. It also provides a Web interface for prospective students to use in order to apply for financial aid. Hypertext capabilities provide easy navigation throughout the Web pages. Financial Aid Self- Service is flexible, allowing an institution to use all or a customized selection of the delivered functions. Technical Note: Baseline records are shipped by SunGard HE and Local records are created from them. Menus, roles, menu items, and Information Text can then be customized for your individual campus needs.
Functional Background With Financial Aid SS 7.11, a new Financial Aid Tab was delivered, separating Financial Aid functionality from the Student Tab.. OIIT provided a workbook to assist in linking the GaMod Financial Aid Award by Term to the new Financial Aid Tab.. Functional Background WebTailor Admin Reminder: If your campus has downloaded and applied Financial Aid SS 7.12 and you also use the GaMod Financial Aid Award by Term, please remember to disable either the GaMod or Baseline Online Award menus/procedures. Otherwise, both Online Awards will appear to students. With the release of BANNER v8, the GaMod Financial Aid Award by Term in FA Self-Service Service is targeted for decommissioning due to the functionality existing in the baseline Banner application.

Steps 1. Follow the steps to require students to accept Terms and Conditions prior to accepting awards online, as well as give their consent to view awards online. 2. Allow students to Accept/Decline awards through the online Award Letter. 3. Manage information to be displayed through Self- Service.

Financial Aid Self-Service Service Controls Institution-specific specific terms and conditions are built by your Web Tailor Admin with the web text functionality. If the student has not accepted the terms and conditions, they will not be able to access the Accept Award Offer tab.

RPAAWRD Award Maintenance Form (RPAAWRD) is automatically updated.
Managing information to be displayed through Self-Service Service You do not have to allow students to accept/decline their awards online!!! By Student- Check/Uncheck the Information Access checkbox in the Packaging Group Information block of RPAAWRD to display/not display the award for an individual student. By Fund- Check/Uncheck the Web Accept Flag checkbox on the Packaging window of the Fund Management Form (RFRMGMT). This controls whether a fund is displayed. (NOTE: If the Web Accept Flag is checked, you must create a Web Accept Status and Web Decline Status on RTVAWST and RFRMGMT.)

Other Functionality? Ability to setup customized questions to be answered via Self- Service. Ability to allow students to report outside Resources via Self- Service. The Web Applicant Info Process (RPPINFO)- Utilized to identify students who need to have information reviewed. This process reports the appropriate information from the Web Applicant Reported Information Form (RPAINFO) according to the parameters you choose. The Web Applicant Reported Information Form (RPAINFO) - Allows you to review outside resource information, award information and question responses submitted by applicants.
