PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES, PULLMAN, WASHINGTON July 1999-Present Systems Librarian (July 1999-August 2006); Head of Library Systems (August 2006- ). As the Head of Systems, coordinate the System unit s work, staffing, and budgeting. Supervise 4 FTE staff in the Library Systems office (1 librarian; 3 information technology services specialists). Support computing services and systems in the WSU Pullman campus libraries and work to identify technologies and products that could be used to enhance library services. Currently, primary area responsibilities include support for scholarly communication activities and discovery/fulfillment services. Chair the WSU Libraries WorldCat Local Task Force, which is working to enhance the discovery/delivery experience for WSU s user community. Served as a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance Shared ILS Team, which supported an RFP process for a shared library management system. Currently chairs the WSU implementation team for the planned 2013 migration to the shared ILS management system and discovery service. NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE, BETHESDA, MARYLAND July 1997-June 1999 Systems Librarian. Served as a team member in the implementation of the Relais document delivery system in the National Library of Medicine s Collection Access Section. This implementation, part of NLM s System Reinvention effort, brought an array of manual and automated interlibrary loan request systems into a single unified system. TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES September 1992-June 1997 Served in three automation librarian positions. As Digital Librarian, worked with automation issues including the deployment of Web-based databases and the integration of interactive and electronic publications into the Libraries web site. As Coordinator, Electronic Reference Services (1994-1996), supported the development of an automation infrastructure for Texas A&M s West Campus Library, a new library facility, which opened in fall 1994, including hardware and software purchasing for the new library.
