VETERANS AT LA ROCHE

La Roche really allowed me to stretch my legs mentally and in terms of leadership. I became very involved with a number of clubs, including the La Roche Activities Forum, the Student Government Association and the Veterans Organization. I really enjoyed the people, and I know the leadership roles I had at La Roche prepared me for management positions in the private sector. - Nicholas Yund 14 Social Studies Teacher Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School

Consistently ranked as a Military Friendly institution, La Roche College offers a supportive environment and unique benefits to military and veteran students. Located 15 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh, the La Roche campus is home to a diverse and tight-knit community of lifelong learners. As a veteran at La Roche, you ll receive personalized attention from faculty, staff and admissions counselors so that your transition into the classroom is an easy one.

CREDIT EVALUATION We recognize that military training may relate to coursework, which is why La Roche offers credit for military experience. Transfer credit can be earned through: College-level studies CLEP Testing and Credit for Life Experiences Active Military Service (submit a copy of your DD214 or either an AART, SMART or CCAF transcript) Schedule an appointment with a La Roche admissions counselor for more information.

MILITARY BENEFITS La Roche students participate in many different veteran benefit programs including the Yellow Ribbon Program. If you are eligible, the Yellow Ribbon Program covers the remaining cost of tuition and fees once the academic year benefit cap has been reached. Having a Veteran Certifying Official on campus makes the process of receiving military benefits simple. You ll receive support and guidance from your first inquiry until the day you graduate.

VETERAN ORGANIZATIONS Established in 2013, the La Roche Veterans Organization allows you to meet other veterans on campus. Members connect through shared experiences, provide mentorship and encourage camaraderie in an inclusive and supportive environment. The organization is an official chapter of the Student Veterans of America (SVA). Many veterans go to class assuming they are the only ones there. Our goal was to help veteran students feel welcome by creating an opportunity for veterans to meet other veterans. Chase Warden 15, co-founder

CAREER DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT The La Roche Office of Career Development provides career services and professional development opportunities for all students. Through appointments, resources and programs, you can learn how to best leverage your unique military skills and experiences. WHY LA ROCHE? Industry-connected faculty that provide you with practical lessons and assignments. Personalized attention from faculty and small class sizes preventing you from getting lost in the shuffle. Flexible schedule allowing you to take classes in the morning, afternoon, evening or online at your convenience. I like the personal relationship that you get with the professors. I feel like they care. To me that s helped out a lot. You leave the military and go onto a whole new lifestyle, so it was nice to know that there s someone out there that you can always go to no matter what. - Ryan Couch 17
