Destinations A career turn-around saw Tyson Brown, 37, swap a job in management for one in the legal industry. Tyson Brown RMIT was the only university that offered me the flexibility to study law my way. The Juris Doctor doesn t just prepare you to be a great lawyer; it builds and develops skills and knowledge that are easily transferable to other fields. I received strong support from my lecturers when I undertook a high court appearance during my second year of the Juris Doctor program. This was organised through the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT and was by far the highlight of my academic career so far. The Juris Doctor is enlightening, challenging and fun. The flexible structure of the program provided me with an excellent foundation for moving into corporate practice and helped me view the law from different perspectives. As a solicitor I want to be a driver of change. I am passionate about the opportunities that education and the law can give different members of the community.
