International Business Week - Finance 4 th edition Banking simulation A challenge in FINANCE! Leuven 7 March - 11 March 2016
Outline of the programme The main target of this week is to let you work in mixed international groups on a subject in finance. It makes you think and communicate in another language. In this way you broaden your practical knowledge of languages and culture. We form groups of people with different nationalities. At the end of the week the groups give a presentation within their market of the work they have achieved. We play a banking simulation in 4 rounds. Some guest lectures are organized. Social and cultural activities are organized to allow you to meet your fellow students from other countries. Banking simulation You are the general manager at a medium sized bank! How to make your bank successful, taking into account the different risk factors associated with the credit market.

Presentation partner institutions and reception It is the tradition that students of the participating institutions bring some food and drinks that are typical for their country. These are shared during the reception with the other participants. Consult with your coach and fellow students to decide what you will bring. Ice skating Don't forget to bring your gloves! A visit to the ice skating rink is organized to give you that well deserved break in between workshops. Visit of Brussels During your visit of Brussels you are free to explore the city, do some shopping of visit Brussels magnificent Grand Place. Company visit Company visits bring you closer to real business life. We visit a financial institution in Brussels, the financial heart of Belgium. Gala dinner with music and dance To celebrate our Business Week - Finance, a gala dinner with music is organized. So bring your gala outfit, polish your dancing shoes and practice your moves for this unique event.
Registration The registration fee is 230. We will send you a registration form. Pay the fee of 230 to your international coordinator. Accommodation You will stay at Youth Hostel 'The Cube'. Rooms are for 4-6-8-12 people. Bed linnen is provided. You have to bring your own towels. UC Leuven-Limburg will book accommodation from Monday 7 March till Friday morning 11 March (4 nights). You can book extra nights directly at the Youth Hostel. How to reach us LEUVEN From Brussels Airport (Zaventem) There is a direct train connection between Brussels Airport and Leuven. On arriving at Brussels Airport take the train to Leuven. From Brussels South Charleroi Airport On arriving at Brussels South Charleroi Airport, take the shuttle bus to Brussels South (Brussel Zuid Bruxelles Midi). In Brussels South take the train to Leuven (Please take care that you take the train to LEUVEN (Louvain) and NOT to Louvainla-Neuve). Look for trains with end-destination either Luik (Liège), Verviers or Welkenraedt-Eupen (Keulen), Hasselt Genk or Tongeren. By train at Brussels On arriving at Brussels South (Brussel Zuid Bruxelles Midi) take the train to Leuven as mentioned above (see 'From Brussels South Charleroi Airport'). YOUTH HOSTEL Leave the station in Leuven at the front side, walk down to the Sint Pieterschurch and then continue on Brusselsestraat. There is also a direct bus to the hostel with a stop at its front door. This takes about 5 minutes, walking about 15 minutes.
