Letters for teachers and students confirmations will be coming out for Doane. Soon you will all know what class you'll be in. There will also be a few changes in dorm rooms this year, Sheldon Hall is being remodeled. But we will have the dorm next door to Sheldon Hall, which is the Frees Hall. Something new added to Doane this year is 15 minute massage sessions for a minimal fee. If you would like to have a massage there will be a sign up sheet available. Dave Kistler is in need of teachers for Saturday morning workshops. If interested, please let Dave know. The new club directory is now available-$2.00 plus shipping. Meeting Minutes General Meeting--April 3, 2010 No meeting minutes. Board Meeting April 17, 2010 Ron Clarke called the meeting to order. Eight members present, Ron Clarke, Ken Armsbury, Everett Kingry, Sherry LaTendresse, PJ Driscoll, Jim Schober, Mike Hawkins, and Mary Ann Klinger. Rohn Collins reported there will be a new History Page on the MAWA web site. Ron Clarke announced Judges for the Fall Show - Pat Moore, Linda and Kirt Curtis. Tabled for next meeting decisions on Fall Show Awards and Charity Ron Clarke repeated a need for a Van and Driver for Lincoln airport transportation to and from Doane. CORNER STONE NATIONAL WOOD CARVERS ASSOCIATION Mid-America Woodcarvers November 1974 Minutes The November meeting of the Omaha Chapter of the National Wood Carvers Association was held at 7:30PM on November 13, 1974 at the Lowe Avenue United Presbyterian Church, 1023 North 40th Street, Omaha, Nebraska. Twenty members, four wives and three guests were present. The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer reported $17.00 in the Treasury. The Secretary reported six meeting notices for publicity and 36 sets of minutes to members had been mailed. The President requested volunteers to be on the Program Committee. Ray Kellogg, Jim Schober and Fritz Mellberg volunteered. The selection of a name for the Chapter was discussed and nine names were suggested. After a ballot vote, these were narrowed to Great Planes Mid-America. A final vote by show of hands was held and the Chapter was officially names Mid- America Woodcarvers. It was voted to hold the charter membership open through the January meeting at which time the yearly dues will be paid. A motion was made that the yearly dues be $5.00 per family. The motion was amended to read that while it will not be compulsory to be a member of the National Wood Carvers Association to belong to the Mid-America Chapter, it will be encouraged. It was decided to donate $5.00 to the church for each meeting held in the church. It was announced Gary Parker was in Bergan-Mercy Hospital for tests. The members signed a get well card which was furnished by Mr. & Mrs. Ray Kellogg. The catalpa wood donated by Fritz Mellberg for a door prize was won by Bob Hegler of Cortland, Nebraska. George Miller of the Miller Paint Company, Omaha, Nebraska was guest speaker. He talked on wood finishes and distributed samples. The November meeting was adjourned. Margrete Skeers Secretary P.S.
