POFI 2301 WORD PROCESSING MS WORD 2010 LAB ASSIGNMENT WORKSHEET Collin College Office Systems Technology Daily Flex Entry NAME _ STARTING DATE OF CLASS SECTION ENDING DATE This worksheet lists your assignments and tests for Word Processing. Use it to record your progress. Place your identification in a header at the top right corner of each document. (See direction sheet.) Do not deviate from the file-naming system given for assignments. Identify your documents as follows: Your Initials: Document Name, Project Name, Page Number (Example yo:wl1-c2-p1-compterms,, p. 46) This course consists of 64 contact hours. The schedule of assignments that is posted on the classroom door is divided into approximately 4-hour sections. Depending on your skills, you may finish each assignment faster than 4 hours, or you may take longer than 4 hours. Based on your starting date and the days and times you choose to attend class, you must schedule yourself to work the necessary hours to complete the course by the end of the semester. You may complete the course as early as you want or take the entire semester. Tests are shown in this worksheet. Be sure to see an instructor when it s time to take a test. If you have not used a computer before, you should read the first section Getting Started. All students should complete the assignments on Using Windows 7, the latest operating system, which starts on page 13. There are two levels of word processing in the textbook Level 1and Level 2. Each level is like a book within itself with each having its own page numbering and indexes. The student data files needed for many of your assignments are available on the student CD or at the publisher s website. These files are also available at the college on drive I under your course number. You will be given access to this drive on your first class day. To prepare for the Theory tests, read all assigned chapters and complete the Concepts Check Test Your Knowledge at the end of each chapter. Students may confirm their Concepts Check answers using an answer key available in the classroom (see an instructor). Place a cover sheet on top of documents being submitted. It should include your name, course, chapter number, and date. Each Lesson Projects will receive a check mark (acceptable) or X (unacceptable) when graded. Each Assessment will receive a grade based on 100 points. Ten points will be deducted for each typographical or formatting error. NOTE: Although you will benefit from not having to actually submit every single exercise, you are expected to work through each one on your own and will be responsible for understanding the concepts and how to apply them accurately. For example, you may need to practice certain exercises in order to be able to complete a required skills review or performance assessment assignment. However, the following select list of exercises, and skills check assessments must be submitted for credit. POFI 2301 Word Processing, Word 2010, Worksheet (Summer 2014) Page 1 of 6

Did you identify each document as described on page 1, paragraph 1? 4. Are documents in sequential order as listed on this worksheet? 5. Did you place a cover sheet on top of the chapter assignments giving your name, the course number or course name, the chapter number, and the current date? 6. If assignments are not identified or are out of order, your work may be returned ungraded. Be sure to copy files from your CD to a USB or your H drive.
