20th July 2017 From the Principal - Brendan O Reilly Dear Parents, I would like to thank our wonderful P&F committee for running a successful canteen at the Clearing Sale on the weekend. We are very appreciative of your hard work in ensuring that we provide excellent school resources and opportunities for all of our students. On behalf of the school community I would like to thank everyone involved. Special thanks to Emma Gascoyne and Chris Skillington for coordinating the effort. It was such a pleasing result considering we were offered the opportunity with short notice. Around three thousand dollars was raised by our P&F committee which really was a sensational effort. Our NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) performance was a great success and lots of fun! The students not only got involved but learnt so much. Thanks to those families who supported this celebration. Parish Mass 5pm Sunday: You are all welcome to join us for a hot drink after the 5pm Mass this Sunday. Happy Birthday Fr Rod! Fr Rod will celebrate his 70th Birthday this Wednesday. Best wishes from our school community. Catholic Education Liturgy: We will hold a liturgy in the church next Tuesday at 11:45am for Catholic Education Week. You are most welcome to join us. P&F News: We had a productive P&F meeting yesterday and have finalised many of our plans for the Trivia Night on the 19 th August. The purpose of the night is to get our community together and have fun. If we raise some money for our P&F committee, then that would be a bonus. Be mindful that there will be many quality prizes to be won thanks to our generous sponsors. A $400 cash prize kindly donated by Cefn will be on offer as well as, vouchers, food and drinks. The community raffle (air conditioner) will also be drawn out. On the night. Trivia Night Raffle: Tickets have been sent home with every family. Please return all tickets and money by Friday 11th August at the latest. Sport News: Thank you for sending the CD Athletics travel permission forms back so quickly. When all forms are returned we will finalise transport arrangements. Peace and Best Wishes, Brendan

PREP ENROLMENTS 2018: Applications for Prep 2018 are now being taken. We already have a promising enrolment for Prep in 2018. Current families who are yet to submit their application for Prep 2018 are encouraged to complete an application and submit it to the school. If you wish to have the interview early in this term you are most welcome to. Simply call the school and we will arrange a suitable appointment with you. Interviews will also take place from the 21st to the 25th of August. We aim to complete all interviews by the 25th August. If you know of anyone who is looking to enrol at St Francis de Sales in 2018, please encourage them to come and get an application package from the office.
