Stevens is a very diverse community in which many different religious and ethnic groups are represented. Given the diversity of students, faculty and staff, scheduling university, school and department events and meetings on every religious observance cannot always be avoided. However, students will be excused from being present in class and having to meet other course related obligations, for observance of religious holidays. In addition, there are several holidays, such as Passover, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, that affect a greater number of people in the community. Every effort will be made to prevent scheduling major events that conflict with these holidays.
