Call to Order President Nancy Hahn, President, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. Prayer Dixie Bean opened the meeting with prayer. III. Pledge of Allegiance Douglas Hines led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. IV. Introductions Introductions were made around the room. V. Approval of Agenda A motion was made by Douglas Hines, seconded by Melvin Shook, to approve the agenda with updated transportation request and personnel actions. 4-0 motion carried

Page 2 VI. Presentation No Presentations VII. Public Comments Ms. Amy Smith, concerned parent, addressed the Board regarding Moorefield High School s graduation date. Ms. Smith expressed concern of having graduation on Monday, May 27, 2018. The processing plants, Pilgrims, work on holidays and employees would lose a day of work and their holiday pay. Ms. Smith expressed concern on why the date needed to be changed since it has always been held on the Saturday of Memorial Day. VIII. Consent Items A. Board Minutes October 15, 2018 B. On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved Consent Items. 4-0 motion carried IX. Unfinished Business A. Discussion of Work Orders Steve Williams X. New Business Mr. Steve Williams, Director of Administrative Programs, provided the Board a copy of the work orders from each school. Mr. Williams addressed the possibility of moving the entry lock to the outside door at Moorefield High School or adding the additional lock. The Board requested for Mr. Williams to get pricing. Jerry Yates Arrived at 5:08 p.m. A. Approval of the Removal of Tobacco Control Policy JDE On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved to remove Tobacco Control Policy JDE from the Hardy County Schools Policy Book.

Page 3 B. Approval of Additional Fundraisers On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by Melvin Shook, the Board approved the additional fundraisers for 2018-2019 school year as presented. C. Discussion of Moorefield High School Graduation Ms. Sheena Van Meter, Superintendent, provided the Board information regarding Moorefield High School s graduation. Ms. Van Meter wrote a letter and submitted it to Dr. Steven Paine, State Superintendent of Schools, requesting for graduation to be allowed to take place on the Saturday before Memorial Day. D. In County/Out of County Transfers On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by Jerry Yates, the Board approved to uphold the Superintendent and Principal s recommendation as presented. Approved Transfers: I. M. from Mineral County to Hardy County XI. Board Members/Superintendent Discussion No Action May Be Taken Ms. Sheena Van Meter discussed with the Board the proposal from Walters & Heishman, PLLC regarding a proposal to purchase a home, owned by Mr. Joseph C. Zirk, located at 320 Willow Street, Moorefield, WV 26836. The Board advised Ms. Van Meter they do not wish to purchase property. Mr. Melvin Shook asked what the HPS fee that was paid was for. Ms. Van Meter explained it was a fee for negotiations and bidding for Child Nutrition food contracts. Mr. Douglas Hines stated the work on the excess levy needs to begin now. Ms. Sheena Van Meter advised the Board the service contracts would go out in March. XII. Future Agenda Items First Energy Electric Usage Study Child Nutrition Update Rebecca Lewis XIII. Page 4 XIV. Mission Statements/Accomplishments The Board congratulated Moorefield High School s Volleyball Team for competing in the state volleyball championship. The Board congratulated Ms. Marsha Hahn for receiving a coaching award. The Board congratulated Justin Frye, Travis Wilkins, Austin Fridley, Adam Harper, Nick Martin, Rebecca Orndorff, and Sloan Williams for receiving their National FFA Degree. The Board congratulated James Crossland for receiving a national award at the FFA convention. XV.
