Students will need to wear appropriate sports clothing and HOUSE colours for the day. Students should also bring a jumper in case the weather turns cold. Parents will need to organise to drop their children off to the athletics track at the Aerodrome ovals and report to their classroom teachers by 8.50am. There will be no staff on site at school on this day. NO busses will be available to transport students from the school. Students can then be collected and signed out at 3.15pm from the ovals. All students need to bring snack, lunch and a drink bottle. Those students who have ordered their lunch will still need some snacks! The canteen will be open for family and friends to buy food and hot drinks. NO ipads are to be taken to the Aths Sports day. Timetable 8.30am Students can be dropped off at Aero ovals (all students must report to their classroom teacher on arrival and remain seated in their year level groups) 8.50am Rolls marked by classroom teachers and score card given out 9:00am Welcome and oath reading 9.15am Events start 12.05pm 12.25pm- Lunch break 12.30pm Events recommence 2.15pm Year 3 to 6 sprint finals and relays 3.10pm Closing assembly and student collection (parents must see classroom teachers to have names marked off before taking students home. Learning Conferences We will be trialling a new format this year, whereby students will not be attending classes for the day but will need to attend their learning conference. Learning Conferences will be held throughout the day on Wednesday 1st August from 8:30am to 5:45pm. These conferences will provide parents, students and teachers with the chance to come together and share and celebrate the learning that has been happening at school. As parents you may have questions about what you have read in your child s report which you can ask at this time. Students will be eager to show off work that they have completed this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate the first six months of 2018! Bookings for the conferences are made online via www.schoolinterviews.com.au. Further information about how to book can be found later in the newsletter. There will be no school for students on Wednesday 1st August. Student Absences As of the start of Term 3 all absences must be notified on the day of absence. If a child is not at school, the school is required to contact parents/carers about the absence. With the colder weather many students (and staff) are getting sick, If your child is not coming to school it is important to notify the school before the day or as soon as possible on the day of absence. There are a number of ways that this can be done; Email your child s teacher Message your child s teacher using SeeSaw Email the school s email Phone the office All absences need to be recorded and with the correct reason for the absence. We thankyou for your assistance with this. Congratulations Congratulations to Meg Neagle (6A) who competed in the State Cross Country championships in Melbourne yesterday. Meg placed 42nd with a time of 12m 55secs. It was a hard race as I had to run up a hill and there was a wind pushing me sideways. I really enjoyed competing. It was a really good experience. RI RI will recommence for Term 3 on Monday 23rd July. Professional Development Day We will be holding a staff Professional Development Day on Wednesday 29th August. NO students will be required to attend school on that day. School Council The next meeting of the School Council is on Wednesday 25th July in the Staff Room, commencing at 6:15pm. Grandparents Day We would like to invite all grandparents and special friends to come to school and experience a day in the life of a 21st Century learner. Monday 29th October is the date, so lock it in now! Prep 2019 Enrolments We would now like all enrolments for 2019. If you have a child who will be starting Prep in 2019 enrolments forms are available from the office or if you know of any new families who wish to enrol, ask them to contact the school to arrange a tour of the school. Enrolment forms need to be returned to school by August 3rd. We have been informed by the department that Irymple South will need to maintain the enrolment numbers within the current buildings as no additional buildings will be available in the near future to cater for growing enrolments. Restrictions may apply to students enrolling from out of the catchment area. Fees Thanks to all the families who have paid their 2018 fees. We would appreciate payment as soon as possible. Payments can be made by direct depositing money into the following account with your child s name as the reference; BSB: 063 520 Acc: 10104523 Lost Property All lost property will be housed in the MPR as from the beginning of this term. All labelled items will be returned to students as soon as possible. Unnamed items will be housed in lost property. Please make sure you label all items. We have signed up with Stuck on You to receive a percentage of sales that uses our code. So if you need labels order through Stuck on You!

Learning Conferences Dear Parents, As part of our Assessment and Reporting process, Learning Conferences will be held between 8:30am to 5:45pm on Wednesday 1st August. Students will be required to attend their Learning Conference with their parents but there will be no school on that day. The aim of these conferences is for you and your child to meet with your child s teacher to celebrate and share their learning and to share future learning goals. If you are unable to make an appointment at these times, please contact your child s teacher. We would love all children to be able to share their learning.
