Cleveland Public s (District and Charter) Ranked by Performance Index The Thomas B. Fordham Institute has ranked Cleveland s charter and district schools by performance index () score for the 20 school year. Numerous other performance indicators are also included, but the performance index score was selected for ranking the school because it provides an overall indication how well students perform on all tested subjects in grades 3-8 and the OGT. It is calculated by multiplying the percentage students that are untested, below basic/limited, basic, pricient, accelerated or advanced by weights ranging from 0 for untested to 1.2 for advanced students. The totals are then summed up to obtain the school or districts score. scores range from 0 to 120. For a complete description how the Ohio Department Education calculated the score link to their website here: http://www.ode.state.oh.us/gd/templates/pages/ode/odedetail.aspx?page=3&topicrelationid=1266& Content=31774 Note: We strongly encourage readers to look closely at the number and the number.
