Recently, Year 5 came to school to discover that a crime had taken place in the Year 5 block! The children were asked to help Inspector Elloway work out who had committed the terrible crime. They spent the day learning police techniques, such as taking finger prints and analysing blood splatter, to help find information from clues left at the crime scene. Everyone then had chance to inspect the crime scene and see what clues had been left, attempting to put it all together to find out what had happened. After that the suspects were questioned, resulting in the criminal being found and taken off by the police! It turned out that Miss Hull had left far too many clues at the scene to outsmart Year 5 and get away with the crime!

Year Six staff and pupils would like to thank Mrs Jan Godman for visiting them recently for Enrichment Afternoon, and telling the pupils about her life and the jobs she has done. The pupils were particularly interested in hearing about her hobby of cricket and many other sports. After she had spoken about cricket the pupils were invited to join in a demonstration in the Hall. Everybody agreed that it had been a fantastic afternoon! The new Year 8 Academy Prefects have been chosen by Mr Gough and the Year 8 Team and were awarded with their distinctive prefect ties. They will be our new ambassadors for the Academy, meeting visitors and helping at school events. CONGRATULATIONS.

We are delighted to announce that our very popular Coffee Mornings with Mrs Applegate and Ms Morrison have started again on Tuesday mornings from 9.30-11.00am in our new Support & Guidance room. This gives parents an opportunity to chat with staff and other parents about any concerns they may have. ALL WELCOME! Can we please draw attention to the road markings and parking restrictions at the front of the school. A number of parents have been seen dropping their children at the front of the school and we would politely request that they adhere to the restrictions, and drop children away from the marked area. This is a very busy area in the mornings and afternoons, and blocking the area with your vehicle causes a hazard for other pupils trying to cross the road safely. Thanks you for your support. I attended Summer School for the full two weeks, and really enjoyed every minute of it. Ww learned trust, teamwork, communication and more! The word school may trick you but fear not, Summer School isn t a place to fill you with sorrow and despair, in fact it s quite the opposite! In some games we were blindfolded and had to make our way around obstacles with the guidance of someone we wouldn t usually work with. Every activity or game was fun and exciting, it was the best way to end Year 6. MADDIE MANN

A record number of twins joined our Year Five this September six sets in total! Even more unusual is the fact that three of the sets are children of staff members. Pictured above are Mr Ralston with daughters Ruby and Kit, Mrs McAlpine with daughters Jessica and Jasmine, finally Mr Young with his children Samuel and Jessica. Other sets of twins that have joined us are Rory and Jamie Cunliffe, Evie and Elodie Lamkin, and Neo and Kaomi Malec-Sery. Welcome to them and the rest of the Year Five children, we hope that you have all settled in well.
