BUDGET Attachment # 1 It is the recommendation of the Superintendent that the Board approve the adoption of a proposed final budget in the amount of $22,458,393 for the 2016/2017 school year. Proposed taxes to be levied to support the 2016/2017 expense budget: Rebalanced Increase/ A. RESOLUTION PAYMENT OF SCHOOL REAL PROPERTY TAXES IN INSTALLMENTS Attachment # 2 As mandated by Act 1, all School Districts must adopt a resolution each year authorizing the collection and payment of school real property taxes in installments. The Finance Committee is recommending that all taxpayers be eligible to pay real property taxes in installments, that the number of installments should be three, that installment due dates should be August 10, 2016, October 10, 2016, and November 21, 2016. Copy included. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. 5. RESIGNATION Attachment # 3 The District has received a letter of resignation from the following individual. The Superintendent recommends Board approval: Kelly Glozzer, Cafeteria Helper, assigned to the High School, effective end of the 2015 2016 school year. Page 2 of 5

6. RETIREMENT Attachment # 4 The District has received a letter of retirement from the following individual. The Superintendent recommends Board approval: Wendy Irwin, Server/Dishwasher assigned to the Middle School, effective the end of the 2015-2016 school year with 3 years of service to the district. 7. EMPLOYMENT Athletics Postseason Stipend Coaches The High School Principal and the Athletic Director are requesting Board approval for postseason pay for the following coaches per the WREA bargaining agreement. The Superintendent recommends Board approval: Sport/Appointment Coach Stipend Wrestling Head Coach Wayne Smythe 4 weeks @ $155 Per week = $620.00 Wrestling Assist Coach Jeremy Betz 4 weeks @ $130 Per week = $520.00 Girls Basketball Head Coach Jon Weaver 1 week @ $155 Per week = $155.00 Girls Basketball Assist Coach Jason McCormack 1 week @ $130 Per week = $130.00 Boys Basketball Head Coach Jeff Peeler 1 week @ $155 Per week = $155.00 Boys Basketball Assist Coach Eric Wertman 1 week @ $130 Per week = $130.00 Coaches The High School Principal and the Athletic Director are requesting the following individuals serve as coaches for the 2016 sport seasons. SUBSTITUTES The Superintendent is recommending Board approval of the classified substitute list as presented. 9. UNREMUNERATED LEAVE REQUEST The Superintendent recommends the approval of an unremunerated leave for Employee 2016-I. This leave will begin on April 5, 2016. Employee 2016-I will return on or about April 20, 2016 pending release by their physician. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. 10. SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS The District is requesting Board approval for the following individuals to serve as volunteers in our schools. The District has received receipt of all clearances and all volunteers must complete mandated reporter training prior to serving. The Superintendent recommends Board approval. ELEMENTARY RESOLUTION The Superintendent is recommending that the Board approve the following resolution addressing the future elementary improvement plan. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the Warrior Run School District, as follows: 1. Warrior Run School District is in the process of implementing a facilities upgrade, renovation, or new construction plan and strategy for its two (2) elementary schools Turbotville Elementary School and Watsontown Elementary School. 2. In order to implement this process and accommodate what is in the best interest of the educational needs of its elementary students and proceed with the required renovations, upgrades, or new construction, Warrior Run School District needs to temporary relocate the Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade students who would usually attend Watsontown Elementary School as well as the Fourth Grade students who would usually attend both Watsontown Elementary School and Turbotville Elementary School for a period of two (2) to three (3) years, as required by the construction schedule commencing with School Year 2016-2017, as follows: (a). Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade students are to be temporarily relocated from Watsontown Elementary School to Turbotville Elementary School for a period of two (2) to three (3) years to commence with School Year 2016-2017; and, (b). Fourth Grade students are to be temporarily relocated from Watsontown Elementary School and Turbotville Elementary School to the Warrior Run Middle School for a period of two (2) to three (3) years to commence with School Year 2016-2017. 3. The Board hereby authorizes the Warrior Run School District Administration to implement all required steps and notifications necessary to effectuate and properly coordinate the temporary relocations set forth herein above including but not limited to managing the duration of the temporary relocations over the two (2) to three (3) year period as required by the construction schedule. 12. DELINQUENT TAX EXEMPTIONS Attachment # 5 The Business Manager requests Board approval of delinquent tax exemptions for personal taxes as submitted. The Superintendent recommends approval. 13. INDUSTRIAL ARTS & MUSIC BIDS Attachment # 6 It is the recommendation of the Superintendent that the Board approve the awarding of bids for industrial arts and music supplies and equipment as submitted in the 2016/2017 instructional budget. (Copy of the bid summary included.) 14. ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICES CONTRACT Attachment # 7 The Superintendent is recommending that the Board approve a three-year agreement for athletic training services with Susquehanna Health System Sports Medicine Center beginning with the 2016/2017 school year. The cost of this three year contract is as follows: 2016/2017 = $29,131, 2017/2018 = $29,713 and 2018/2019 = $30,308 with additional hourly rates as needed and cost of equipment. 15. DIRECT ENERGY AGREEMENT Attachment # 8 The Buildings and Grounds Supervisor and Business Manager recommends that the district enters into an agreement with Direct Energy for the distribution of gas for the Elementary schools and the MS/HS complex per the attached agreements. 16. APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBER AS CSIU DIRECTOR Attachment # 9 The Board President recommends Mr. Douglas Whitmoyer serve on the Board of Directors of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit. This term will be for three years from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019. The Superintendent recommends approval. 17. ADOPTION REVISED POLICIES Attachment # 10 The Educational Policy Committee is recommending Board adoption of the following revised policies. The Superintendent recommends approval. Policy 121 Programs Field Trips Policy 815 Operations Acceptable Use Of Internet, Computers And Network Resources 18. FACILITY USAGE REQUESTS Attachment # 11 The District has received the following requests for use of district facilities. The Superintendent recommends approval waiving rental fees: Jim Hendricks, on behalf of the Turbotville Carnival, are requesting use of the Turbotville Elementary School Grounds on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. To hold the 3 rd annual Car Cruise In. The District has received a request from Watsontown Lioness Club to sell food and drinks in front of the Watsontown Elementary School on July 4, 2016. 19.
