* * * * The High School North Field Hockey Team and coaching staff were the 2014 recipients of the Shore Chapter IV Field Hockey Umpires Association Sportsmanship Award, following an extensive selection process. We congratulate them for this award and recognize them for bringing honor and pride to their team, their school and our district. Since 1994, the Wendy s High School Heisman Program has honored more than 395,000 of the nation s most esteemed high school seniors in partnership with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee. The leadership award-honorees are well-rounded young men and woman who excel in learning, performing, and leading in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Like The Heisman Memorial Trophy, the Wendy s program believes in the pursuit of athletic and academic excellence with integrity. In addition to honoring student accomplishments, the Wendy s High School Heisman Program inspires all future high school students to pursue their higher education goals. Each state selects one male and one female winner. Maddy Marrone was selected as the female award winner from New Jersey. We are proud of Maddy for achieving this honor and commend her for her accomplishments in the classroom, as a leader and on the field. * * *

The High School North Middle States Accreditation for Growth internal coordinators and planning and implementation teams are commended for their hard work, commitment to excellence and willingness to dedicate their time, which led to a very successful outcome for High School North. After their 4 day visit, the unanimous approval of the five person validation team of educators to grant Middletown North full and unconditional re-accreditation for the next seven years is a shining achievement for North. The Board of Education and Administration are very proud of their professional efforts, which reflect so positively on our district and the teaching profession. Please accept our appreciation and respect for a job well done. The book was inspired by a discussion with her own daughter and covers the right time to talk about Santa Claus, how to explain Santa, the role of tradition and symbols in modern life, and why generosity is desperately needed in today s world. We congratulate Sonia on her accomplishment and recognize her for the distinction she has brought to her profession and our district.
