Guidelines of the Competition The competition will run from February 27 until March 31, 2017. The winners will be based on the following category: The highest average of total participation points in a school. This will be calculated by taking the total number of participation points divided by the number of registered students. Rules: This competition is open to current Mathletics schools Schools must be registered for the competition Only students can complete the activities and earn points Schools may add additional students for free for the duration of the competition Only points and activities mastered within the dates of the competition will be calculated Work completed on tablets, in offline mode may not be calculated The results will be updated weekly! How to Master Curriculum activities and Earn Points Curriculum Activities 10 points per correct answer within curriculum activities. * 20 points per correct answer within a Test. * *Within the Mathletics curriculum a maximum of 300 points can be earned per week from a single activity (600 points for Tests ). This is designed to encourage students to attempt a wide range of activities. How to master an activity The students need to earn a score of 85% or higher to master an activity. Students will see a gold bar or medal when they have mastered an activity. Live Mathletics Students earn one point per correct answer. Students earn two points per correct answers on their bonus level. * *The bonus level is indicated by a gold star next to the level number. Teacher tip In your teacher console, the Results area is used for setting targeted curriculum activities for individuals or groups of students. Select your Class and Group using the menus at the top of the screen, then select a unit. Click the blue arrow in the action bar to assign a specific curriculum task for your students. Dear Parents, Your child s school has entered in the Mathletics March Madness Competition. This is a national Math challenge focused on students mastering curriculum activities and practicing their mental math skills (Live Mathletics). Prizes are awarded for top performing schools. There is also a free Mathletics app for tablet devices that students can use to access Mathletics from anywhere.
