Our Lady of the Rosary Weekly News January 7 to 11, 2019 Thank you: Kindergarten parents who volunteered for cooking gingerbread Mon., Jan 7 Welcome back! Tues., Jan 8 Tchoukball starts (Jan 8-22) Wed., Jan 9 Healthy Hunger Taco time Thurs., Jan 10 Pulled pork on a bun in the canteen $3 Fri., Jan 11 Happy Friday! DRESS LIKE CHRISTMAS DAY Mrs. Hollygan and Mr. Jingelhardt made a special visit to all the classrooms this week including Mrs. Ackerman s grade 2 classroom. Christmas spirit was in the air as the students dressed in red, green, and sparkles to commemorate this spirit day! GRADE 3 GINGERBREAD HOUSES On Wednesday, December 19th the grade 3 classes made mini gingerbread houses. The students discovered many insightful things about the building process. Some conclusions they made were building takes time, things change through the process, the load cannot be too heavy, and it can be fun! Thank you to the Cranston Sobeys for generously donating royal icing for the project. We d also like to thank our volunteers for taking the time to join us.

GOOD LUCK MR. LITO! All the staff and students at Our Lady of the Rosary school were on hand on December 20 th to present Mr. Lito with a farewell video and a binder of farewell comments from students. Mr. Lito has been an amazing part of the Our Lady of the Rosary team over the last three years and we wish him all the best at Our Lady of Peace school. HITMEN TICKETS MAKE A GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT! This Monday, December 24 is the last day to be entered into a draw to win a signed hockey stick from the Calgary Hitmen! If you buy four or more tickets in a single purchase by midnight, you will be entered to win: http://bit.ly/districtday2019 (Open to all staff, students and their families.) The winner will be announced the week of January 7, 2019. We raise $2 for the foundation from every ticket sold and from a portion of the night s 50/50 sales. Tickets are only $12 and make the perfect last-minute stocking stuffer! We encourage you to share this contest with your colleagues, friends and families. Thank you for supporting the foundation and for joining in the fun! MARK THE DATE FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT January 24, 2019, School Council will be hosting our 3 rd Annual Family Movie Night. Movie to be determined. TOBOGGANING ON THE HILL We have recently noticed that there are a lot of kids tobogganing on the hill after school. We kindly request kids to refrain from tobogganing until after 3 pm as it is a safety concern for all students. Students are dismissed at that time and there are a lot of kids on the tarmac after dismisal. Thank you for your understanding.
