VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS [minimum 1 year course / 5 credits] Art Experiences > Honors Drawing & Painting > AP Studio Art 2D Intro to fine arts and the exploration of various art mediums. Includes drawing, painting, 2D and 3D Design. Students will begin to develop a vocabulary in composition and multiple techniques. Ceramics > Ceramics 2 Students explore clay as a medium for creating both functional and non-functional pottery as well as the basic hand building techniques of ceramic construction and wheel-throwing. Photo 1 > Honors Photo > AP Studio Art 2D (Photo) Intro course to black and white 35mm photography, includes traditional methods of film processing and darkroom techniques to produce museum quality black and white negatives and prints. Digital Arts > Graphic Design Incorporates both digital photography and graphic design into two unique semesters. Students will learn about composition in photography and the use of Adobe Photoshop, as well as the fundamentals of graphic design and Adobe Illustrator. Chorus Primarily a performance ensemble, which performs in winter and spring concerts. Students learn the skills necessary to improve as individual vocalists and chorus members. Symphonic Band > Concert Choir > Honors Concert Choir Bridges the skill-level gap between middle school and advanced high school performance. Students gain valuable musical skills and experiences. Chorus/Symphonic Band. Intro to Theater / Acting > Wind Ensemble > Honors Wind Ensemble > Concert Choir/Wind Ensemble > Honors Concert Choir Wind Ensemble Students receive equal time in vocal and instrumental music each week > Actor s Workshop 1 > Actor s Workshop 2 and 3 Introduces both experienced and inexperienced students to various aspects of theater. Students do perform short theater pieces in this active, hands-on approach to theater.
CAREER EDUCATION & CONSUMER, FAMILY / LIFE SKILLS [minimum 1 year course / 5 credits] TV Production Focuses on pre-production, production, post-production, and digital editing. The first half of the course is studio-based, while the second half in on remote production and editing. Intro to Fashion and Textiles Areas of study include fashion psychology, history, textile applications, color theory, illustration, sewing and knitting, styling, current events, wardrobe planning and career exploration. Journalism Students will learn the basic reporting skills of interviewing, researching, and writing on deadline, and will also learn about the history of journalism in the US as well as the legal and ethical issues involved in reporting the news. Intro to Business This course covers diverse economic systems, the stock market, entrepreneurship, planning a budget, making investments, and planning a career in today s global economy. * This course fulfills the financial literacy requirement > Marketing 1 > Marketing 2 This course will enable you to learn about personal finance, decision-making, investments including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, etc. Also covers personal finace issues such as saving for college, buying a car, credit cards, and identity theft. * This course fulfills the financial literacy requirement > Broadcast TV > Video Storytelling > Adv. Film Prod. Personal Finance & Investment Woodworking > Project Woodworking Students learn how to safely and appropriately use woodworking machinery to design and construct four different assigned smaller projects. Foods & Nutrition > International Foods > Culinary Arts Students learn basic food preparation skills with an emphasis on nutrition. CAD & Design 1 > CAD Draft & Design 2 > Honors Architectural Design > Honors Engineering Design > Furniture Design > CAD & Design 2 > Honors Architectural Design > Honors Engineering Design Topics include care and use of drafting instruments, lettering, orthographic and pictorial drawings, sketching and dimensioning, all skills essential to aspiring architects and engineers. Learn how to use Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), and a variety of mechanical devices. Real World Engineering Course covers Science,Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) by way of hands-on, real-world activities. Teams use computers to research, design, test, organize information, and receive feedback for design solutions.

Financial Management This course promotes personal responsibility for financial planning, saving, credit, investing, and risk management. Students in this course will learn how to establish goals and budgets, analyze personal financial decisions, evaluate investment and savings alternatives, and use credit responsibly.
