The Recipe Hey GLACURH! It is with great honor that I present my bid to be your Coordinating Officer for Technology for the 2016-2017 academic year! I am only in my second year at Saginaw Valley State University and this wonderful institution has already offered me so many opportunities to grow as a leader which included me attending GLACURH 2014. At Indiana State University, I was in complete awe with everything that occurred during the weekend and I fell in love with everything that GLACURH offers students and everything that it stands for. It was then when I realized I wanted to get more involved with GLACURH. SVSU decided it would bid for GLACURH 2015 and this is when I realized I could apply all of my skills to even better enhance the conference experience and become more involved with the region. When I applied to be on the GLACURH 2015 staff, I was a bit conflicted on which position chair I wanted to apply for. I have held marketing positions that run social media and I have a background in technology/ design and so after extensive thought, I decided that my abilities and skills would best fit the Technology Chair. After I was awarded the position and we were awarded the bid, I became really excited to work with everyone to host the conference at SVSU. The position required me to create and maintain a conference website/ Guidebook as well as aid in running social media and working with all things technology during the conference. I maintained contact with the Coordinating Officer of Technology (Kellie Howe) as well as everyone else involved in the creation of the conference to make sure that everything was up-to-date on the website. I would always try and update information as soon as possible so that people were aware of what was going on for the conference. As Coordinating Officer for Technology, I will utilize all of the skills and techniques I learned as the Technology Chair and apply them on a wider scale. There is so much that I owe the region and it would be a privilege to get to work for it next year. I m passionate about this position and I m confident that I will do everything I can to showcase the amazing organization that is the Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls. Make Today Amazing GLACURH! Pedro Marin 2
