Dear Parents and Guardians Welcome to this week s! Well, the time has finally come! All of the staff at Testwood would like to wish all of the Year 11 students all the very best for the forthcoming exams. There are breakfast booster sessions and exam preparation lessons to support all the students in their exams. The students received a booklet with all the times and venues and they are also on the school website (under Students, Exam Preparation). Lessons will otherwise continue as normal and the focus will of course be on revision and exam practise. Please could all students ensure that they have all the correct equipment for their exams and ensure they are fully prepared for their exam the night before. On the day of the exam, they must have a healthy breakfast and always be at the exam venue at least 15 minutes before it starts. We have been very impressed with the hard work and dedication the Year 11 students have shown. They have been a wonderful, talented and friendly year group and they have been great to work with. Now they need to be prepared, believe in themselves and show the examiners what they know. Above all, they should make themselves proud! Be positive and go for it! Thank you once again for your support and please let me know if you have any concerns Mr Murphy Year 11 Progress Leader and Assistant Headteacher

--Department Updates------------------- English Maths Science Geography History Good luck to you all in your upcoming exams; you have worked incredibly hard and with just an extra push, you can do this! Revision for the next week will be on Literature for your two exams starting 22nd May. Top 3 tips: plan your answer, write about devices, proof read for SPAG. Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday of half term for English Language revision where we will go through practise papers. Best of luck to you all, from all of the English Department. The Maths team would like to say thank you for attending all the revision sessions- last one this week. We wish you all the best of luck in your exams you have worked so hard to get to this point - well done! My advice to students this week is believe in yourself, you can do it! You have done all the hard work and have learnt all of the work. By all means top up on your revision and practise a few more questions but take time to relax and above all get a good night s sleep before your exams. Staff are available for any further questions or last minute revision. Good luck everyone - we are all rooting for you! Homework focus - All students have a revision calendar to follow as part of their revision programme - a question a day for the month of May. Teachers are also setting specific tasks for each class. Revision classes are running on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - please encourage your child to attend. Good luck to all in their exams! The students have worked so hard they deserve success - be positive, you can do it! Revision website - www.samlearning.com (remember to choose WJEC A). If students would like copies of past papers they will need to bring in a memory stick and ask their teacher. What was it like to live in Nazi Germany? How did young people react to the Nazi regime? Drama Textiles Media Studies Revision focus needs to be Practice exam questions using the past paper questions and all your Drama revision resources. Your exam is Thursday so don't forget P4 there will be a revision session before the exam. Students need to look closely at the ethics and morals of textiles with special attention to India. Look at BBC bitesize and Textiles 4U Well, this is it! This is the last time I will be able to add something to the Year 11 bulletin for you all. Firstly, can I say how proud I am of all of you. You have worked so hard over the past two years and especially recently with improving your coursework to make it the best possible grade; you won't regret all the hard work and after school sessions! You now have less than two weeks until your exam. Keep doing what you've been doing so well: working hard, revising well and remember to keep writing those practice questions. Top tips: write in role, use a range of media terminology, use a range of examples of TV game shows, make your new TV game show amazing and appropriate for the target audience specified in the brief. YOU CAN DO IT!
