LENA PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEWSLETTER From the Desk of Mr. Pytleski February 8 th, 2019 School Make-up Days are Based on Amount of Instructional Minutes for the Year Many people have been asking about the amount of days we will need to make-up due to the recent cancellations due to severe weather. The DPI requires all schools to meet a standard amount of instructional minutes each year. Thus far, and thanks to our buses being stored indoors during the extreme cold weather, and our scheduled In-Service this past Monday, we are still projected to meet our state requirements of instructional minutes and have no need to alter our school calendar at this time. Mark Your Calendars for the Spaghetti Supper Please join us for our 35 th Annual Lena Staff Spaghetti Supper on Thursday, March 14 th. All of our proceeds go to student scholarships and it has always been a wonderful community event! See you there! PBIS Winter Incentive for Middle/High School Small Community, Great Opportunity! We want to thank Lena Lanes and the Oconto Falls Lions Club Tubing Hill for sponsoring our event for positive behavior! We had a great day! - Ben J. Dear Class of 2020 parents, It s hard to believe but our kids junior prom is just around the corner. Traditionally the parents/guardians of the junior class have planned and worked a safe, substance free post prom event. We are asking all parents/guardians of the class of 2020 to help make this event a success for our high school students. We are encouraging any Juniors and their parents/guardians to attend an initial planning meeting on Wednesday, February 13th at 6:30 at McGuire s. The junior class will be asked to help us make decisions on location and other details. As parents, we will need lots of ongoing help with planning including soliciting donations and prizes, planning activities, booking the location etc. We hope you are all able to join us so that we are able to make this a fun event for our kids. Any questions contact Lisa Misco. Thank you!
